Construction in my office.

Our windows are being replaced today... upgrading from single pane to dual pane Anderson windows. They're really ripping the fuck out of the place. It's cold as fuck outside, and I'm gazing through a gaping hole in the wall. And I got up way too fucking early to hear construction in my office.

Webmasters were not meant to get up this early. :(

so did you get the windows with the gas between the panes?

I used to window fit, its not that much of a noisy job & they should not be ripping the fuck out of the place. It should be a neat & clean job. A little bash here & there maybe!?

Good luck with it all though. They should look nice after they have finished & the noise level shall go down from traffic outside too!

Not sure if they've got a gas between the panes... but I know these are pretty high end. I have the heat turned on and I've never ever actually felt hot in here... but I do now. Pretty awesome. The sound levels are definitely improved... normally I'm quite annoyed with all the noises outside, and now it sounds just perfect.

Dual pane makes a significant difference in noise reduction and heat retention. They are a standard in most new construction. In CA we have single everywhere and I hate it.

Built in 1930 and had the original windows. I hated them. Now that I can actually see out of them, I kinda wish my neighbors house looked a little better...
