Businesses/occupations that have become obsolete in your lifetime?

i just saw somebody refer to 'TV Repairman' in a thread on here and it instantly brought up an image of the guy who would come to the house with his box of tubes and electronics when I was a kid to fix the TV - you used to see these little TV repair shops - they're totally gone now I think?

what other jobs/businesses are gone that you remember? we had a milkman, i can't imagine there are milkmen with routes anymore.

these guys http://www.oberweis.com/ are actually going strong and deliver milk, chocolate milk, lemonade, ice cream etc... in glass bottles and I don't live on a farm they deliver in Chicago and suburbs. I use to stop at one of their retail stores and get root beer floats etc... all the time, good shit. I think a lot of electronics repair jobs are gone as the labor to repair something would kill you when you can run out and get a new computer, stereo, tv etc... pretty cheap these days. I have also seen quite a few metal plating/metal finishing jobs gone in this area now due to the automotive collapse probably affecting automotive salesmen as well.

beeper/pager repairman

Although data recovery is still big, hard drive repair is probably obsolete due to the crashing prices?

Want a good example? Check out Uniden.

They make telephones (land lines), short distance radios, CBs, and some other not-so-widely-used-anymore things.
