InterNEXT - What a Great Show for Biz

While this show may have had less attendees, I found it to be great for biz. Solid meetings, the MoviePost dinner was incredible this year, large attendance at the mobile seminar, and overall people were ready to make deals.

Thanks to all that I met for the first time and the old acquaintances I got to catch up with. Good times all around.

How was the show for everyone else?

C-Luv 01-14-2010 09:46 AM

AWESOME!!!! Best show for business for me too!!!!

Barefootsies 01-14-2010 09:51 AM

All in all, one of the better shows of late.

Lots of "talk". Business is never concluded until the WIRE hits my bank account. However, there were plenty of talkers at this conference about new business and opportunities to be sure.

I would say it is a prelude of things to come on new alliances and partnerships.

:2 cents:

Headers and WLs are submitted, should be done today if not tomorrow. Got a lot of requests during and after the show pouring in.

Looking forward to get it going too. :)

True That! Great show ;-)

Wizzo 01-14-2010 10:15 AM

Excellent show for sure! It was great that almost everyone there was the "right" people to make the decisions and get things done! :pimp

it was great talking to ya :)

dirtybaker1331 01-14-2010 10:21 AM

I felt that this was one of the better shows. All the crap from years past has died out and the top players made it. Great seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. Going to be a great year for the industry.

Raf1 01-14-2010 10:27 AM

wasn't able to come. Hopefully next time...

alexchechs 01-14-2010 10:28 AM

Great show indeed. So glad we all went down...

rhon23 01-14-2010 10:44 AM

Sorry Kristin but you aren't on the list

RyuLion 01-14-2010 10:46 AM

True, everybody was hungry to do Biz. Hell even I had meetings..

Adam X 01-14-2010 11:15 AM

yeah its easier to talk to people when there's not 500 booths and 10,000 people screaming behind you.. kinda miss it though.

the smallest Internext EVER.. what like 20 exhibitors?

Will it be back?

The year of Joint Ventures....

LeRoy 01-14-2010 11:41 AM

There is still a lot biz done at these shows. I met a lot of people and had a lot of fun.

It did suck not being able to attend the Only Movies dinner.

Why were there flyers or why was the Only Movies listed in the schedule? Thats my only gripe. If its a VIP dont post it on the list of events.

indubitably! I'm just getting my after-show stuff finished up here and will be talking to lilit about mobile shortly

xxweekxx 01-14-2010 11:52 AM

heh ive been to mainstream conventions and in my experience these shows are 90% talk.. for every "10 deals", only one actually happens..

everyone somehow is talking biz, yeah ill send you sales, yup ill use your billing services, etc, lets have another drink, etc..

people seem to agree with people when they are in a good mood, its human nature.. difficult for the affiliate to say NO to you in person, so he just says yes, and he never follows through...

the only guys i see making good deals are probably hosting companies like mojo, and maybe one or two top affiliate companies, the rest of the people: their bank accounts will be the same this year, with or without the show

In the past I would have agreed with this, but not this time. The last few shows have had pretty good follow through. And I made sure to meet with the "right" people. :)

Normally, I think you would be on target, but the seriousness of the show this year was higher than I've ever seen, much more focus on actual business than booze, hookers, blow, parties, etc.

boneprone 01-14-2010 12:01 PM

I think I ended up getting herpes this show...
Very productive indeed..

You didn't go to Las Vegas if you didn't leave with herpes or chlamydia.

yeah its possible.. was just saying in general.. i am an affiliate btw, for mainstream.. was just funny seeing people agree to send traffic to ALL the companies there, then go home and not send one hit....

but yeah for everyones sake i hope this show worked out, just dont think the show is a place for an affiliate.. all you'll have is companies begging you to send them traffic...

Robbie 01-14-2010 12:09 PM

You get contacts - and that's the most important. Perhaps you won't close the deals right after the show, but you can do your best and eventually start doing business with those people in a year or two. It's a long-term investment:winkwink:

I told you to wear a rubber with that one and you didn't wanna listen. You said she, "looked too pretty to have any problems."

Good to hear it was a productive show for some of you. Maybe it will make it another year.

I'd bet more than ever companies were looking for new deals and way to make money. Times are getting hard.

KBoogie 01-14-2010 01:07 PM

I agree Kristin! What a great show! :thumbsup

SykkBoy 01-14-2010 01:35 PM

Agreed Kristin, it was a great show. I made some good contacts, got to talk about the new gig and set up some deals and potential deals...

Sorry I only got to see you briefly for a few minutes.

My first Internext as a member of the AVN team and it was wall-to-wall meetings. I think a lot of business got done, and I could have used more time for meetings. Kristin, you were one I didn't get face time with. I'll have to ring you up soon.

I loved the Internext mobile updates too!

Tasty1 01-14-2010 09:13 PM

I haven't been to 1 seminar. In Amsterdam the seminars started at 12:00, that is much better. That could be a good idea for next years internext.

As an affiliate with free sites a have not much to sell. But i did it this year on AVN, my trip is paid :) On Internext i got some interesting ideas and met some interesting people. Their will be follow ups on that meetings. I heard enough to make more money and work out some ideas.

There was 1 dutch saying that could be projected to this show: De 1 zijn dood, is de ander zijn brood.

Nice meeting you all.

JFK 01-14-2010 10:29 PM

Pleasure seeing you Kristin, Business was great for us as well, Hone was doing deals !! Thanks for the hookup:thumbsup:thumbsup
