Phone video/display specs - who can help?

Trying to really figure out at how to encode videos to have the specs that they will play on the following phones:

- Iphone
- Blackberry
- Android

What i already think is, that i should have at least mp4 regular and mp4 x264 (iphone) encoding.

But what about these specs for them:

- General width/height so people dont have to scroll left and right?
- Video bitrate and fps?
- Audio bitrate and samplerate?

Or is there a better way then to have it encoded into 4 different videos so everyone can have their pick?

huh? you can't have just one video format/resolution that will work well for all mobile phones. you need different videos for different phones. let them click some links/icons to play the version that is for their phone.

stupid phone manufacturers should all be capable of streaming FLV's.

Thats what im trying to do now, but to make sure i have the most common/general phones i need their specs/formats so i can get them encoded in a way that i can reach them all with easy playable videos. :winkwink:

Here's a good link for encoding for the T-Mobile G! which is an Android phone:

http://androidcommunity.com/forums/v...&catid=2&id=28

That should help you with Android. One issue you might have are the different resolutions. The Droid and Nexus One both have different resolutions that are already different from the rest of the Android phones. (ie. G1, MyTouch3G, Samsung Moment, Hero, etc)

Here's some good info about the Android and audio/video that might help you out too:

Aside from Apple, most of them will quite soon. Flash 10.1 is already available on the Nexus One, which means the rest of the Android lineup will probably get it shortly.

Windows Mobile already can do Flash, with the Skyfire browser.

Not needed since the script encodes.

All we need to know is: what are the best containers/codecs to encode to.

It would be also good to have videos which are playable on Symbian OS based phones.
