Damn bless his little heart! Shit like this makes me feel so so sad.. and it makes me so much happier that I have two strong healthy kids and it makes me aware of how close I could be to losing it all.
|
Some really tough pictures in there. Let's hope when this is all over that Haitians get a decent government

As the richest country in the world (that may have recently changed, but I doubt it), we step in when we can. By your theory, the rich people that pitched in tens of millions of dollars after 9/11 could have said "what did the workers in those buildings ever do for me?" |

Africa is full of horrible things happening and you don't see this amount of aid pouring into Africa do you? Aid is limited and we hardly even show it on the news when genocide, drought or famine is happening there. No one cares about some of the African countries because there is NOTHING there we can profit from. Nothing to benefit from. No military advantage. Nobody rides for free. |

That is very powerful - yes. The child was rescued. These people are lovers of children.

The most touching aid to the US was after 9/11 when the Maasai people of Kenya offered 14 heads of cattle to help the victims of 9/11. It does not sound like much in our society but that?s huge for them. The story is told in a children?s book, 14 Cows for America. Quote:

Katrino: thanks, but no thanks ...:
# Cuban President Fidel Castro offered to fly 1,100 doctors to Houston, Texas, with 26 tons of medicine to treat disaster victims. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a vocal critic of the United States, offered to send cheap fuel, humanitarian aid and relief workers to the disaster area. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/09/04/katrina.world.aid/ and the US first said to the French to fuck off .... : Concrete help was refused by the US government initially, however on September 2, Condoleezza Rice said that the US authorities would assess the situation and contact French authorities accordingly. On September 4, US authorities formally requested French assistance. France offered disaster relief stocks prepositioned in Martinique ..... |

this brings back memories of the northridge quake which is nothing in damage compared to what's going on in Haiti. Truly heartbreaking and I hope there is a silver lining somewhere for these poor people.

Donate to them. Help kids!

Very touching photo
