A cop got me after internext

After the internext we went to the Grand Canyon south rim and made a great helicopter tour. Than we went back in our rental car, till a cop showd up in the mirror. I was driving only 100 mph. After he pulled me down i got my first speeding ticket in the USA. He let us make a picture where he was handing over the ticket to me. So we had another great souvenir after 3,5 weeks USA.

But it was a nice cop. He got me for speeding 10 mph to fast (i was driving 25 mph to fast). Next time have to be more carefull and not driving like i do in the Netherlands. He told me i could take a course instead of paying a fine, but i have no time to stay longer. It will cost me another 165 dollars. I have to look up what they will do when i not pay, they don't have my current address ;)

Great country we loved driving Route 1 from San Francisco to Los Angelas, Palm Springs en Vegas. Next time we will drive slower (or watch if there are any cops in the neigborhood).

Those are both very different drives, but both pretty magnificent. I have to give the edge to Hwy 1 through Big Sur.

You?

Our route was very different indeed. We never made this much pictures on previous holidays, but this time there was so much to see that we had to. First we stayed 4 nights in San Francisco and started route 1 (the beginning of route 1 is astonishing), Monterey (Whale Watching), Big Sur (Woods), Morro Bay, Santa Barbara (great city). That route was perfect to drive! The rest was not so fun to drive. But we liked Los Angeles Universal Studios and Hollywood, and also the Areal tram in Palm springs and the city itself. There we visited also the Joshua Tree National Park. The drive from Vegas to Grand Canyon is boring, we stayed at Williams, a small city with nothing to do in this time of year. Cause we had hunger we also stopped at the Roadkill cafe in Seligman. We saw it was part of route 66.

But the 1 hour helicopter flight at the south and North rim we will never forget! I pay the fine, and will later laugh of the souvenir with the cop on the photo.

Now staying in downtown Vegas for the last 2 nights after 3,5 weeks vacation/work. Been to David Copperfield and go to Le Reve in the Wynn tomorrow.

We once did a roadtrip from Vegas(through Joshua Tree Park) > San Diego > LA > San Fran(Hwy 1).

Had a few stops in between (Pismo Beach for example. Not recommended :1orglaugh )

Big Sur kicks ass, especially at the end of the afternoon. I think both drives are awesome and can't really chose to be honest :P

Pretty sure that only applies to parking tickets, not a citation that you signed promising to appear.

A failure to appear on a ticket is the same as skipping bail, which means you can be arrested in other states for it.

Sebastian Sands 01-16-2010 01:37 PM

where is the picture of the cop handing you the ticket?

brassmonkey 01-16-2010 01:39 PM

fatfoo 01-16-2010 02:52 PM

Yea I was going to say, not sure how this goes for out of country people, but for us natives, they consider it a failure to appear and usually put out a warrant in your name. soooo Unless you want a potential detour the next time you come over... pay it.
