How to encode flv files
 

I wanna add some flv video files to a members area. So needless to say I want the videos to be as high quality as possible. But it seems no matter what I do the quality just isn't high enough (Or at least not as high as a similar size wmv file).. So whats the best way or the best program to convert wmv files into flv files without compromising on quality?? Or is it simply not possible??

havent tried this but on youtube they let you download your own videos as mp4, try uploading your videos to youtube as "private" let them convert them for you , just delete them when your done.

My tube pay site script does it automatically for me.

However, I want to say that you could do it in Sorenson Squeeze. They have almost every file format you can think of on that program. Although I only use it for converting DV AVI to WMV.

Hmm seems no matter what the fuck I do the flash videos will never have the quality I want them to have. Are there any other ways of streaming my content in a way so that members can't easily download the file?? (Ofcourse they can always just look at the html codes and find the link)

If you convert a wmv to flv, the final weight must be similar or flv its always bigger? (using the same frame rate and size, etc)

My host, Dream Host does that for me automatically (with just a few clicks), and the quality is very good!

We use compressor for mac of FFMPEG. Quility turns out fine with the correct settings, as long as we aren't trying to upsample the files.
