Tutorial: Using WordPress as a Marketing Toll

Another new tutorial at FDSign . This time we'll cover how to use WordPress as a very simple yet powerful marketing tools hub, especially aimed to those using WordPress as a CMS

See WordPress as a Marketing Tool Tutorial here :)

I've checked your tutorial... sorry but it sucks, it should be called rather a "custom header tutorial" or something like that. Wordpress as a Marketing tOOl ? 475 words is perfect for a blog post, but not for a tutorial about marketing. Please work better in future and i'll visit your site, as it looks great :D

well, I didn't wrote the tutorial, but it's very easy to see that you can add any wordpress feature, you can add a header or, as in the given example, a widgetized sidebar/footer or any of the possibilities mentioned in the tutorial by just adding the proper call. If you need a list of WP tags you can take a look here

This tutorial aims to help people do stuff they never thought about, and at the same time to open a broad field of possibilities instead of some random code copy/paste. I've searched for something like this and didn't find it anywhere, so I'm sure it will help some people looking to expand WP to new horizons, even further than what we mentioned :)

Anyway, glad you like our site and you're invited to contribute in any way you want :)

I see what the article is trying to say.....use Wordpress elements on your non Wordpress pages in order to achieve some sort of site wide branding.

Whoever wrote the article though should be shot. It doesn't make very much sense and doesn't get the idea across. It took me about 4 or 5 reads just to figure out what the fuck was going on and I consider myself a Wordpress pro.

Seems like whoever wrote it is 1) not familiar with the English language enough to write anything that makes very much sense 2) copy and pasted crap from multiple sources or 3) didn't have someone to copy edit

Then you should pay more attention, really. I wrote it, and the idea wasn't to write a tutorial about marketing, but to write a tutorial about using a tool like WP to manage marketing promo tools, and the explanation on how to achieve it is quite clear:
  1. add code at top
  2. add WP tags as fit
  3. done

I can't even imagine hot to make it easier than that :(

btw, on the topic of marketing, we've not 1 but 2 marketing graduates in-house, so believe me we know 1 or 2 things about marketing :winkwink:

English is not my main language for sure. But I dare you to find the "multiple sources" I "copy/pasted" that. Heck, let's do this interesting: I'll pay you $1000 if you find those "multiple sources" (or even 1 source). Otherwise, you pay me, how does it sound? :Graucho

Geez, so much sand in vaginas, I should learn not to try to help :(

ya its not really a tutorial, it is pretty vague, nothing of real value, sorry harvey I expected more from you than this.
