mac book question

Im getting a new 13" mac book, it says it has DVI-D, anybody used it with a 24" , does it work well?

I have a Macbook that's a few years old now and it pushes a 24' monitor no problems with the mini DVI port.

Graphics and video support
Geforce

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory5

Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors
reading is fun

Hi Adultmix,

I have a macbooc and yes - it works pretty well, but the graphics card is a little weak meaning that it will do 1024 lines, but no more.

I tried it on my LCN screen at home ant it was good for previewing video, but not really good enough to use as a monitor for typical work such as browsing and email.

What I ended up doing was buying a 27" iMac.

The new macbook will push a 24" display with no trouble at all that is what I have set up = works perfectly, you have to buy the minidisplay port to dvi adapter to make it happen though it's like $25. it will also support the native rez. I have used mine on a 30" as well and it looked perfect.

hope this helps

We use it to push 1920x1080 on the living room television and it works fine...

It doesn't exactly decode 1080p MP4 with the greatest finesse, but it handles non-intensive desktop graphics without a problem.

I am also a mac convert. I don't really do much video work on it, tho I do use it lots for music/dj'ing and it ROCKS!

DamianJ 01-20-2010 03:39 AM

It will be fine for that res, yes.

I'm pushing a Wacom Cintiq 21ux interactive graphics pen display with my MacBook Pro. Should be no problem.

Sid70 01-20-2010 06:47 AM

rocking. Im getting it no shit. It may convert me for sellign other PC laptops and getting an iMac insted. Damn, new times, changes, I love that.
