Where Do You Guys Stand On KFC "Poutine-Gate"?

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2...20716-qmi.html

The long and short of it is a teen girl that has epilepsy endured a seizure and did a header into a bowl of poutine at a KFC. The poor girl suffered 2nd degree burns on her chin... Should KFC have to warn people about how hot their food or is this another case of someone looking for a handout (ala the mcdonald's coffee incident a few years back)?

Kind of tragic, but whoever is bringing this lawsuit forward is retarded... sad enough the kid died in a chicken bowl at KFC... i'm sure the internet meme patrol will be busy working on that one, but to call up the news and get it published as well. Retarded people... and they will probably lose to boot.

BTW just for the record i love poutine!!! :-)

They'll probably put a warning on the containers and in turn raise their prices to cover it. All cause people can't use common sense. If it were too cold they'd complain, it's too hot and they want to sue.
Next thing you know surfers will be suing websites cause they didn't cum while masturbating to a scene.

Although the McDonalds case is used as the poster child for frivolous lawsuits, that wasn't the case at all.

Most importantly, the woman tried to settle several times for just her expenses and was told to fuck off, that's why she sued. She only ended up getting three times her expenses even though the judge himself called the behavior of McDonalds reckless and dangerous.

Don't forget, when you hear about a a big settlement, it's a jury that hands out that money, a jury of regular people. Not to mention, do you think regular folks go around defeating staffs of corporate lawyers when they only have a flimsy case?

Big companies have virtually limitless legal resources to defend themselves, when they lose it's because they were wrong.

Frivolous lawsuits are practically an urban myth.

if you fall into a hot bowl of anything its your own dam fault unless someone pushed you in shut the fuck up and deal with it.

the woman should of been told to fuck off...if she wasnt smart enough to NOT put HOT coffee between her legs and drive, then she deserved to get burned...as much as i hate McD's...and most big corps for some of their practices....i wish they won that case because it just opened the door for stupid ppl doing stupid things and then being rewarded because of a slimy lawyer...

as for this girl...sorry, glad someone was there to help, but come on...its fast food, its mash potatos (im assuming or fries)...and gravy...its a HOT meal..so its going to be HOT...

i also agree....KFC sells poutines? im not even Canadian and im sorry for that...

DateDoc 01-20-2010 10:17 AM

Everyone else sues so go for it! Not sure on how Canadian law is but in the US she'd win!

ShellyCrash 01-20-2010 10:23 AM

Maybe the lesson is you shouldn't send your epileptic teenage daughter out alone to get something to eat.

Bring a sibling, bring a friend.. If she hadn't been alone she probably wouldn't have had her face burried in the food long enough to sustain 2nd degree burns.

The father says all he wants is an appology and for KFC to say, "hey everybody this food is hot.” That's common sense. A warning label or public notice would not have prevented this. The only thing that could have changed the outcome, other than forcing a restaurant to serve luke warm food, would be an ounce of prevention on the part of her parents.

The Mcdonalds coffee incident was not an incident where a woman got a normally heated cop of coffee and spilled it on herself (boohoo). It was SO HOT that it gave her MAJOR burns. It was not your normal everyday hot coffee. It was superheated and gave 2nd and 3rd degree burns. A normally heated cup being spilled on you will give you redness on your legs and soak your pants. Not actual burns.

It's a case where the jokes and references have completely distorted the actual facts.
"It was so hot today!"
"How hot was it?"
"It was so hot, I spilled mcdonalds coffee in my lap just to cool off"
"hahahaha"

I luv KFC .....yum yum

PixelVixens 01-20-2010 03:50 PM

Shit like this is ridiculous. We shouldn't have to nerf the world because a small percentage of people are too stupid to figure out that food is hot or McDonalds makes you gain weight and is potentially unhealthy. We need to let natural selection do it's work and let these morons kill themselves so they won't pass down their idiocy.
