Been trying a new technique after i shave to stop razor burn...good results

After i shave (my face) i take isopropyl alcohol 70& and put it on a pad and wipe the shaved areas... it burns like a motherfucker but check it out....

After this wait a few minutes for the tingle to stop...

i take 100% pure aloe vera gel and rub it in to rehydrate the skin...

Zero razor burn from this....

You can also use aftershave which has alcohol in it but it also has other shit in it which i tried and still got razor burn day or two after the initial shave..

Anybody have any other home remedies?

Hehehhe

I am beautiful

Oops, what I meant was, don't shave so often. I only shave once a week. If I try to do it every day I would have constant razor burn. And always use an actual sharp razor, not those electric ones. Electric razors hate me.

I used one of those Norelcos back in the day .... wher eit says give it "21 or so days " so your face gets used to it... anyways that thing butchered me so bad that i never used it again..

I used those gillettes witht he multi blades on em... I shave like 2x per week at most but still prone to razor burn

1. Use a sharp razor. Old / dull ones will not do as good of a job.
2. Don't shave for about a week, to let any residual bumps and razor burn heal.
3. Shave before you shower. Use hot water. Go slow, and easy. It's your face, not a lawn.
4. Shower after to heat up your skin, and open the follicles, and loosen your skin.
5. Wash your face with a cleanser, not bar soap.
6. PAT your face dry, no wiping it dry. Wiping will irritate your skin.
7. Once you get out of the shower, immediately put on moisturizer. Not cream. Not lotion. Olive oil will work too. Don't use too much, just enough that there is a light covering that the skin soaks in. This will lubricate the hair follicles.

Typically, razor burn is caused by shaving when your face is too cold, the blade is dull, or there isn't enough moisture on your face. Shaving everyday will also cause this over time. Try to shave every 2 to 3 days depending on how fast your beard grows.

I would disagree with that one, for the very reason you stated. I always take a raging hot shower before I shave, so that the skin gets good and heated up first, then shave immediately after getting out of the shower. I never get razor burn.

Aftershave products, yeah. Gels and such things.

MetaMan 01-21-2010 02:57 PM

It is all about learning how your hair grows and following the grain. if you shave with the grain in all parts you should not get razor burn.

i also shave AFTER i shower.

i also use aftershave for sensitive skin. i dont like the idea of putting alcoholic on your skin. it burns for a reason, why burn your skin?

i also do long full strokes just like i do with my big cock. short strokes i find is hard on your skin.

stever 01-21-2010 02:59 PM

i use the tend skin liquid from tendskin.com
it burns but it really works

I shave after I shower to soften the skin. I still get razor burn a day or 2 later.

That is the route I went. I haven't shaved in over a year and half now. I have weekend stubble 7 days a week by using trimmers.

MrMaxwell 01-21-2010 05:06 PM

The only way to cut my hair is AGAINST the grain
Even then I don't get close as I want
I ATTACK my face with the Razor
I'm very aggressive
70% alcohol works great... Most people can't handle it (the burn or the after effects)

I do the same thing on my head
At first caused huge razor burn
I kept doing it, my skin got use to it

Give yourself a House shave... meaning only use the clippers and don't actually use a razor... Makes you look Brawny too!

I was feeling innovative one night and I sprayed this on my balls... felt fine for about 3 seconds, but then it gradually started to burn... about 5 seconds more and I was like an Olympic sprinter running to the bathroom to get something to splash on my balls to get this stuff off... it felt exactly like someone had lit my balls on fire. So yeah, I don't recommend this stuff for your balls. :1orglaugh

Razors and shaving cream are a pain unless you want to shave only once in a while. They always nick me up.

Anyhow, I use a Norelco on the face and a Braun on the neck. For you a Braun all over might work real well. I get no razer burn from A Braun.

Norelco is rotary (while Braun is the back and forth style with a floating screen) and I have got some burn on the neck but if you get the more expensive adjustable Norelco you should be able to set a Norelco pretty light for the face.

So much easier than blades. I'm fully shaved in one min and I can have a decent beard in a week so.. Another thing is you have to shave everyday. The longer the whiskers the more trouble elec shavers have. That is key.

And that is EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about shaving. (Ed)

You are wrong old witch hazel breath. (Johnny)

Some sort of cutting instrument is preferred.

I recommend with a chainsaw with fresh blades. Works wonders.

Also, I shave my face and nuts with a Gilette Fusion the 5 blade one, and it does great. I dont use anything on my skin... it seems like aftershave CAUSES my irritation. Can't stand a big grungy bush so i chopped the mother fucker off. Yep. I go against the grain AFTER I go with the grain to get the length shortened.

An esthetician friend told me those were extremely bad for your skin. Anything more then 3 I think she said is bad. I personally use 3.

I also shave after my shower and never use shaving cream. I only get razor burn once in a great great while.
