Mozilla, a public-benefit organization dedicated to promoting choice and innovation on the Web, today released Firefox® 3.6, an update to its popular, free and open source Web browser. The latest version of Firefox introduces cutting-edge features, support for a wide variety of Web standards, and access to more than 6,000 free add-ons that allow users to customize their browser to their liking.

Firefox 3.6 is more than 20 percent faster than Firefox 3.5 and includes extensive under the hood work to improve performance for everyday Web tasks such as email, uploading photos, social networking, and more. It also delivers new features like customizable browser themes called Personas, a ground-breaking Plugin updater, improved JavaScript performance, and enhancements to familiar favorites like the Awesome Bar for a better, more personal Web experience.

I think I'll wait a year or so before I upgrade...

It is Much More Stable than last Version
on my puter it is about 35% faster
than last version

I have Firefox using up 184,912K of memory while looking at two sites.

do all plugins work with it?

nope :( fuck im updating anyway

It is faster but somehow i have feeling it will take even more memory then before.

I'll stick to Chrome :)

i will check it out the plugins are the only reason though chrome just doesnt have enough of them yet to replace firefox

the persona thing is pretty neat :D

it seems quicker. I don't like how the new version opens tabs tho. Instead of opening a new tab on the far right, it opens to the right of the current tab.

First time that happened I was looking for wtf happened to my tab.

I just updated and there is a BIG difference in speed + plugins seem to work = GREAT! Lets hope they have fixed the memory usage issues.

still slow as shit when loading and cumbersome. Chrome kicks it ass hands down. Like my FF extensions though. Still use Chrome 99% of the time.

Seems faster indeed... but the video rendering is different now.... the screen pixelates a bit when i'm scrolling down... seems like it's splitting my screen into three parts when I scroll now... kinda weird on the eyes.

I would have given Chrome a shot if I could just have the same extensions - I am quite addicted and used to them.

I use Opea 90% of the time and have no problems :)

chrome will get the same FF extensions and take 2nd place in the browser wars soon. will see.... opera? really? didn't know anyone used that anymore.. lol
