If these fucking morons would omit the mandatory/compulsory coverage requirements and omit the benefits tax increases, they'd probably have more support from the people.

I read alot of the bill.. and there's some great ideas in there, BUT, at the same time there's some bullshit that does not sit well with me and I'm sure many others feel the same way.

One of the key issues many people had with this reform is the DEMAND AND REQUIRE aspects of it as well as the increase of tax on health benefits.

A lot of insurance companies will be jumping for joy.

Can someone tell me if the bill Obama is trying to pass will replace the need for private insurance and wll the tax to pay for it then cost less than insurance?

nation-x 01-22-2010 08:12 AM

There was no such thing as "ObamaCare" to begin with... it was "CongressCare"... Obama never introduced a bill... only detailed a general outline of what he would like the bill to contain...

Obama ran on a number of important issues. One of those was the need to reform our healthcare system, which is too expensive, and run by big insurance companies, with no checks, balances, or competition.

He won.

Now when he tries to do ANYTHING that he was voted in to do, he is fucked over at every turn.

I do not blame Obama for anything, except for TRYING to negotiate with assholes.

Those of you who celebrate his failures should find somewhere special and GO FUCK YOURSELVES!

Tell me again what the GOP did to help the middle class over the past 12 of the 14 years that THEY controlled the congress. Oh yeah... nothing whatsoever! Tax breaks for the rich, a tripling of the national debt, illegal wars, bonuses for huge banks and corps, etc.

And now Obama is to blame?

FUCK YOU!

nation-x 01-22-2010 09:02 AM

No worries... the SCOTUS ruling yesterday killed any real influence that you and I might have on the process anyway... because now corporations can spend unlimited money to support any position they want or any candidate they want. 2010 is the year that our country fell the rest of the way into the hands of corporations and the wealthy who can use their money to influence elections in any manner they choose with very little accountability.

Since their lobbyists all gave money to Coakley, they'll actually be sad. They want Obama's bill to pass.

not to mention the earmarks that get attached to bills like this. thats what people should really be bitching about. some of them are ridiculous.

A quick search on Google.

"We spend over $4,000 per capita on personal health care, about twice as much as Canada and the European countries (which cover all their citizens), and the gap is growing. Why is our system such a money sink? Not because our population is older or sicker. All the Western countries have aging populations vulnerable to nearly the same illnesses at roughly the same rates, and ours is actually younger than most. Nor is the reason that we get better outcomes.
By all the usual measures of health-life expectancy, infant mortality, childhood immunization rate- we do worse than most Western countries. The only plausible explanation is how health care is financed and delivered. The American health care system is staggeringly wasteful and inflationary. The United States is unique in treating health care as a market commodity distributed according to the ability to pay instead of as a social good distributed according to medical need."

Life expectancy World wide. And yet with all that money spent the US lags behind a lot of places who spend less.

Before I bother answering your question, how old are you and how long have you been employed?
