Fuck IE8, it's worthless.
IE8 is worthless to me, but since 65% of online people use it, I need a couple real quick questions answered.
1) How can I remove the gap between my header image and the top of the page? It's around 25px and I figured it out a few months ago but I forget. 2) Why would a jpg image show up in Chrome and not IE8 or FF? I'm just about left with no other option aside from making a new image in a different format. All my other images are jpg and gif and they're fine. Coding for the image is fine. This is fucking gay LOL. |
Got the image to show in FF now... just IE8 and the damn gap at the top.

I don't doubt you, Code, but I really dont have a choice. I also dont think everyone here would band together to fuck themselves out of 65% of their traffic either.

I have tried to find some info for you and thus far I only found that you have to use negative margins. I can remember something similar but on a side, not the top. You should also check if <div...> <img...> to <div....><img...> solves the issue (found that also and remember something similar). I know it's a bit vague but I do remember similar problems and it had a very stupid solution where you just had to "jiggle" the css/html a bit. Do you have to source online for me to see? Maybe I can spot the issue for you. |
it is even not working properly
|
My guess is negative margins. IE has always sucked and will continue to suck.
|
Armus, what's not working proper?
Also, I figured out the issue. IE adds an empty text node to your code if you have </td> on a seperate line from other code, so that's what was fucking it up. Now what I am running into is getting the <ul> list style:none working right. I hate dumb shit LOL. |

You must have coded your page using dreamweaver :pimp or any other wysiwyg editor. Anyways, if you have your own css file, try putting this code on top: body { margin-top: 0; } If that doesn't work try deleting one image at a time from your header while refreshing your browser with each delete. Whichever image was last deleted that made it display correctly, must've been the bad worm lol. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that's a header problem. As for the 2nd question, I don't have chrome so I can't answer that. Hope that helps mate :thumbsup |

Hope you get the rest sorted out as well. Keep in mind, you are not alone m8, you are not alone :D |

I can't believe that much people still use that crappy browser.
|
IE8 just makes coding shit that much harder. You really need to begin and end table rows on one line, and a whole bunch of other dumb shit, to satisfy it's gay standards. All the other browsers understand the invisible line breaks when we code, which makes it loads easier. I personally don't like cramming shit all on one line, it makes the code so dirty.

agreed, ie8 is fucking around with our lives.

I'm happily using Chrome. A lot faster, almost never crashes :pimp
|
It's useless just like IE7, IE6, IE5...
I just switched from FireFox to Chrome and it's ULTRA FAST and now has it's own add-ons that are really good and are not slowing it down... |
I only use Firefox since v1.00! :thumbsup
|
I hated IE8 about 20 minutes after installing it..lol..switched right back to IE7!
|
Chrome is my best friend.
|
It sucks for sure!
