Video Producers, Final Cut Express 4?
Does anyone have any experience with this program? I have been post producing my video via Premiere and I am re rendering my video library for my members. Basically my issue is that even though I deinterlace my video, I still see the jaggies everywhere on my re renders.
I am re editing from tape that was shot in 2005. I know there is a degregation of the data, it is a 1/2 decade old, but these jaggies just look like shit. I heard to run the video through a cleaner, although I see no reason I have to post produce this shit twice. I am deinterlacing at 4:3 aspect ratio, video size is 640x400, keyframing 300 frames, h.264, data rate 3100kps, ...fucking blah! Advice, Experience with final Cut Express? I heard the rendering engine is awesome... |
Most of our stuff is done through FCP, but I dont personal use it. Making the switch to Mac soon so bump :)

Transitioning from Premiere to Final Cut is relatively easy since they have similar interfaces. I made the switch about four years ago when Adobe quit supporting Premiere for the Mac (which is my preferred computer) - Adobe has since gone back to supporting Mac users, but I fell in love with FCP in the interim.
I highly recommend that you consider purchasing Final Cut Studio. It has an incredible array of programs and tools, and it works practically seamlessly with the Mac OS, since both are made by Apple. There are many good Final Cut forums and tutorials too... Good luck, ADG |
Don't skimp out, I don't know a single editor who used any of the Final Cut Express versions.

Cool, thanks Ghost, Hypedough and AsianDivaGirls. Yeah I know I shouldn't skimp, I have a trip coming up to be shooting in Texas. I may just wait to get FinalCutPro when I get back. And maybe hit up my buddy so I can get the student discount. It looks like a great tool.
I had heard that it is just like a "BIG" version of imovie 08 and I hate imovie08. No idea why you have to have an intel mac to process AVCHD data. Well I do know why, it is the video card that is in PPC's, but it still sucks. I appreciate the feedback regardless! |
i'm not sure about that, but just bump to you
