They will eventually get a job, but there is a good chance that it won't be the same type of job they had before.

I was reading the other day that there are some jobs that just won't come back as the recessions ends. Many of them are manufacturing jobs. The companies that are in the position to create those jobs are simply outsourcing them and opening up shop overseas instead of doing it here in the US.

Savings are a good idea - then for some time you don't have to work.
