MS FrontPage Causes Validation Errors?

Anyone here had a problem with MS Frontpage causing code errors that pop up when you run your pages through the validator???

Anyone else had this problem? Which web page editor has the lowest error rate?

I cant answer your Frontpage question as I havent seen or used Frontpage since late 98.

Just about everyone uses Dreamweaver.

When I code websites, I do it by hand in text editor. I think you'll find Frontpage creates more problems than not.

That said ... I think web validation is a little overplayed nowadays. Think about it... what browsers actually comply 100% ? None! lol. Well, so many bugs these days that you have to work your ass off to fix them in different browsers. I even had every line of code 100% in every browser except firefox the other day. Wtf is that all about huh? Firefox is supposed to be bad ass and totally standards etc. Bullshit. Nothing is 100%.

Until there's just one browser and one set of standards, we will always have bugs.

My view ... if the site looks good in every main browser : Safari, Firefox, Chrome, IE 6, 7, 8 (because yes, all of those are still very much mainstream), Opera etc.... then it's ready to use. Majorly complex designs will need more validation than others. But the majority of tours, tgp's etc ... they're not going to break.

Thanks for this. I thought it might be a situation like that so im glad youve said it. My page was working fine in all browsers but i always seemed to have some little page error only seen by the validation site.

Frontpage is no longer supported by MS. There is a reason.

My view ... low cost sites. Do surfers see the error? No. Do they care? No. Do they want porn? Yes. Do you deliver porn in every browser in a nicely designed site? Yes? Good.

:) End of.

Do yourself a favor and uninstall that shit. Frontpage, and microsofts new web editor, both fuck up php code beyond belief.

FrontPage is so easy a cave man can do it. :thumbsup

When I get a new computer, I will most likely use dreamweaver or expression web.

woj 01-26-2010 10:47 PM

get yourself dreamweaver, no one uses frontpage now a days.. :thumbsup

I still use FrontPage and always will, I hate to get used to new programs. When I like something and it works, there is no reason to change it, just because there is something newer.

One reason: BFP writes very sloppy code

My sites are basically <a href> and <img> only, very simple. And I can always edit the code in notepad if needed.
