yah no shit. gave me wood.

can't wait to get all my magazines on this thing.

CaptainHowdy 01-27-2010 12:05 PM

Aaaaaaaahahahaha!

DateDoc 01-27-2010 12:06 PM

No doubt and they already have publishers lined up. A lot will depend on the price point of the iPad as it really is just a full color kindle that can surf the web and answer email. Then again if you can download books to your kindle from iBooks they really are in for some competition.

96ukssob 01-27-2010 12:07 PM

i dont think so. they're product is a lot less then Apple's iPad will be, plus its a reading device only and my guess is Amazon will have a lot more ebook titles available

GatorB 01-27-2010 12:08 PM

WOW Apple releases an overpriced POS with proprietary crap and somehow people love this shit. AMAZING. God forbid one could get their material from somewhere else other than Apple. See Mr Jobs this is why I don't buy your shit. See me the device. IF your price on the content is competitive I will buy. Don't rape me into buying your shit. GOOD products NEVER have to do that.

Why the facepalm? Amazon made it to market first.

Mac stuff is not as entrenched as people think. I was a huge iPod fan, but have since started using my Phone as an mp3 player, and haven't bought music from iTunes in a year(I use Amazon). I actually gave away $60 iTunes gift cards I got for xMas.

I know several other people who have gone the same route. Don't be so sure that everyone's just going to jump ship from Kindle because Apple came out with something.

Because no price has been announced yet. Calling something overpriced without knowing the price is idiotic.

Not sure WTF you mean by that?

Fact is why should I buy this is I am FORCED to get by shit from Apple? When I buy a car can I not get gas anywhere or just where the car manufacturer tells me to go?

It's an Apple product. Show me ONE Apple product that hasn't been overpriced.

DateDoc 01-27-2010 12:14 PM

The iPad will be available with just wifi or with wifi & 3G too.

DateDoc 01-27-2010 12:16 PM

Pretty good deal for 3G.

DateDoc 01-27-2010 12:17 PM

all of the iPad 3G models are unlocked, and they use the new GSM microSIMs

DateDoc 01-27-2010 12:19 PM

Some people don't look at price.

How about an iPad at $499. That is the price. Seems reasonable to me. :thumbsup

DateDoc 01-27-2010 12:22 PM

I like the pricing

GatorB, when you've stopped dining on your foot I'd be interested in your opinion on the price. The base model is only $10 more than a Kindle DX, offers 16GB instead of 3, is in color, and offers a LOT more than books.

I imagine you will be waiting for a while.

It's cool. Little haters like him are needed to balance out Jobs' Reality Distortion Field.

I want an iPad though.

Somehow i doubt it replaces the kindle, the ipad doesnt have digital ink which makes it something a bit different than kindle. If anything i see the gadgets as allowing some overlap, there will be people who own both and those that own one or the other.

IPad looks cool but digital ink supposedly offers a superior reading experience.

Holly Lez! 01-27-2010 04:29 PM

They should have called it Facepalm instead of ipad ewww

Iron Fist 01-27-2010 04:51 PM

LOL.. If Apple made an iCar... you'd have to get your iGas from the Apple store...

I can't believe how everyone loves being locked in.

MrBottomTooth 01-27-2010 05:13 PM

What's the appeal of this thing? Isn't it just a giant, overpriced Ipod touch?

Hell, they are talking about how it is the best way to browse the Internet, and the piece of shit doesn't even support flash.

The iPad may be many things, but it is not a digital reader.

No kidding.

The incredible hypocrisy is that it's the same idiots who cried about Microsoft years ago who are now happily buying into Jobs' gadgets. It's all about the packaging, I guess.

I guess the whole 'smarmy douchebag' thing sells.
