I've used it... and was very disappointed... It's very unresponsive. The battery sucks... crappy screen...

You don't get it. The integration with the iTunes Book Store is the key. They specs mean nothing, really.
Just as the iPod PLUS iTMS and the iPhone PLUS the App Store revolutionised those industries, it is the deals apple have done with the publishers that is the coup here, not the actual device. |
Am i the only one that doesnt give a crap abou the iPad Frenzy?

What I find the funniest is how a lot of the media is calling the iPad "Steve Jobs' swan song". I think someone shot the fucking swan. |

nothing will be an "iPad" killer unless it allows you to work with iTunes. People have downloaded hundreds to thousands of songs, movies and everything else through iTunes and thats why nothing else can come close to an iPod, iPhone or iPad
|
I'm no Apple fan, but I don't know how any Archos product can be compared to an Apple product.
I've owned 2 Archos music players and they were crap. |

Jobs just left open a huge gap for someone to fill and beat the iPad.
No multi-tasking is huge IMO. Archos may not be the device that challenges the iPad, but it certainly shows the developmental possibility of easily surpassing iPad's shortcomings. Take the Lenovo U1. If they just sold the tablet portion, no hybrid connectivity to make it a full laptop, I'm sure they could easily challenge the iPad price-point. Plus when you get up to the 64GB version of iPad at $849, you're very close to the touted pricepoint of the full U1. The iPad is still going to sell millions, don't get me wrong. I just feel that Apple lost out on many sales by not delivering a few things people had hoped for and will look elsewhere. |
MSi has a nice on coming soon that will be an Android tablet and has some nice specs.

Dell has one in the works too.
Here's a comparison on a bunch of the different models coming out. http://gizmodo.com/5459308/slate-sho...ndroid-tablets |
Almost everything Apple develops is a golden egg. The Zune was supposed to be the "Ipod Killer"..... PLEAEEEEEEEEASE.

The iPad will be a suitable device for
a. casual internet users with simple needs such as email, browsing, ebooks, listening to music, etc. b. More advanced users who get their work done on laptops, workstations, etc. These people are very well aware of the iPad's limitations and the device will serve as their secondary device to do basic tasks and read books, newspapers, etc. while lounging on the couch. It's not an expensive gadget, so it won't be a big deal to pick one up a secondary (or 3rd, 4th) device. Hate it or love it, it will probably be a success. (as most of Apple's products launched in the past few years) Apple excels at hardware/software design and usability and that is a major factor for many buyers. |
I want one.
