Watchign the news right now and some lady won $8000 from the lottery. She went out and shopped some and went out to dinner with her lottery money, and she was leaving a local tavern and got hit and killed by a car.

The cops aren't even planning to press charges on the fucking driver!

Unless the driver was drunk/high or speeding or texting/on the cell phone or driving without a licence what reason is there to charge them? They're called ACCIDENTS for a reason. Have you ever accidently hit an animal while driving? If so I guess you should be arrested for animal cruelty.

Traffic laws depend on the area of the country you are in. In NYC it is always the drivers fault regardless if people are playing in the street.

Are there any local newspapers online that have the story? Would be interesting to know the details of the accident.

Whenever I walk on the roadside, I do it against traffic so I can see whats coming, and I get as far the hell over as I can, including jumping over snowbanks if need be. Also helps not to drink or be too drunk anyway.
