Got me a SWEET new laptop today...

Toshiba Satellite

I am so proud of this damn thing, I had to share. Office Depot has them at a steal right now, $699.

It isn't often that I buy myself something, but this is a deal I just couldn't pass up.. I feel like a kid at Christmas. lol

I had to share it. lol

Wow nice specs and price.

alias 01-31-2010 04:58 PM

I like Toshibas.

pimpware 01-31-2010 05:06 PM

That is a real decent machine.

The only "not so decent" thing it's the graphic card, with those specs it should be at least a card with dedicated mem, but it will do the job anyway! :thumbsup

AAB 01-31-2010 05:10 PM

I have once made a mistake of buying a 16" laptop. It was a massively huge piece of shit I had to haul around, impossible to open on the airplane or in a car, requiring huge fucking bag to carry around in, etc. You learn as you go along. If you want power and large screen, expand your desktop. If you are opting for a laptop, go for something portable.

I looked at that too, but since I am in no way, shape or form, a designer, I should be ok. lol

TRUST me, you don't want me to have a good graphics card, because then I'd start to think I could design. :1orglaugh :upsidedow

TeenSluts 01-31-2010 05:14 PM

Excellent! Half the performance at twice the price is always a good deal!

It took me twice to get what this said, then I almost choked to death laughing. lmao

I actually did look very hard at one of those, but as garce says, twice the money for half the system wasn't my idea of a good deal.

I upgraded from a Toshiba I had had for nearly 5 years, so I guess I am a Toshiba girl.. lol

If Apple didn`t waste so much of my time screwing my PC up with their shit programs I might have considered purchasing one just to see what the fuss was about.

Damn. I`m running a shitty Core2 duo 1.86 on Vista. The bloody thing hasn`t crashed since I bought it over two and a half years ago. The side of the case is off and I`m continually plugging in new hardware. Just today I ripped out my EMU0404 soundcard (cause I`m getting a new machine dedicated to recording music...)

This bitch has been on since July of 2007, and its only been restarted when MS Update makes me restart it. I only shut it off when I plug something new into it. I love it. I`m going to hug it now.

We had Satellites before the current Latitudes. Really liked it in the beginning, but towards the end (2 years) it ran pretty hot and got loud. goodgirl's started doing that after about a year. A 500 GB drive is going to do a lot of spinning, so be advised.

That is why I went to SS.

My last 3 laptops have been toshiba satellites, I stand by them. Good reliable machines at a decent price. Even my nb200 netbook is awesome. I do like Toshibas.

Yeah, poor thing. lol

roxy, I am all about Dell Desktops... wouldn't have any other kind of desktop at all. But I have had a couple of Dell Laptops and I didn't like them at all..... my husband swears by them, but not my thing. But for anything else, it's Dell all the way. :thumbsup

SmellyNose 02-01-2010 09:23 AM

Yeah, you don't get good laptop deals like that here at all. They try and sell you some shit for a low price and try to make it sound amazing...

I've been pricing Laptops lately... this deal looks good.

The only thing I don't like about most new laptops is they do not have the Firewire port.

WTF?

I have an Apple Powerbook that I've had for five years and I have no issues with it and love my powerbook. I guess once you're a PC person you're a PC person for life. The same goes with Apple enthusiasts...different strokes.

M0nk 02-02-2010 01:09 PM

sounds pretty good! enjoy it and make some money with it! :thumbsup

V_RocKs 02-02-2010 01:28 PM
