Best Content Management System?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I can not possibly read all the threads! Does anyone have a CMS they really love? Or hate? Any stories to share? Companies to stay away from or any that excel in service? I need a CMS for about 6 - 9 sites.

Believe it or not, most of what we do is manual, lol... I have photoshop galleries pretty automated, and it's a breeze, but the problem is I can't go on vacation! Or what if I break a leg? Or the dreaded mother in law comes to visit for god-forbid 10 days! AAAAhhhhhhhh.... so I need a cms that I program for future updates.

They range from free to very expensive. I'm leaning towards Site Depth the newest release looks really good. Any advice?

Depends on the type of site.

Right now for adult pay sites, I am really enjoying the tube pay site CMS. As for celebrity sites, I still prefer my custom built site. Although I do also now have a celebrity tube pay site as well in development. So we'll see after launch.

Oh sorry, I should have said. It's for 9 solo girl sites in a network.

for solo sites - go with SiteDepth, it was created for solo sites.

Never used Sitedepth, but heard that customer service was a little slow, which isn't good if your sites go down.

I have used a few others, and ended up with Elevated X... and never been happier. You can lease it for about $150 a month, and schedule your updates as far out as you want. Hell, it'll even update your free area for you at the same time.

The company, site, script was sold off a few months back. It has new owners now.

This is interesting topic...
Company I work for spent several months to custom program a "web-service" to serve pictures on several sites. Idea is that we can put in the "web-service" a set of pictures of 5000 pix and it will be displayed on several sites as we like (resized, re-selected,...). The concept was created to make a part of cross content on several sites which would all have their part of own exclusive content also, it was also done to save place because when you have hundreds of thousand pics, better to have them once that one time per site.
But I am far from satisfied by the result because for obvious reasons, I cannot brand the pictures them-selves... and all technical solutions to brand the picture when they are downloaded by the user are really slow...
So I will go to have a look at the software you advise :)
