Wordpress Sidebar wrenchability
Hey guys,
I've made countless wp blogs, and this is an issue I always seem to run into. I always find a workaround, but for once I'd like to know the source of this problem and how you guys may have figured out how to solve it. When working with a theme, I try to add another block of links - or whatever - to the sidebar, following the same format as the other settings in that sidebar. Without fail, the code will be EXACTLY the same as the other sidebar functions, yet it will still show incorrectly in the sidebar, screwing up the layout, maligning whatever image is associated with sidebar sections etc. I'd just like to know what causes this. Is there a part in WP where the amount of sidebar items is designated and I'm just fucking with the flow? Any input is appreciated. Thanks |
Could be any number of causes, though a good practice is to widgetize the sidebar so that the markup for the sidebar items will be uniform.

Though if I duplicate in the code on of the sidebar blocks, it shows up fine - only when I add an extra one. And yeah, I always troubleshoot what I am adding in the first place, and it rarely is the problem. Funny thing is, usually if I add he extra block tot he bottom, it's uniform, but not if I add it to the top or middle of the sidebar functions. It's very strange. |

I added an EXTRA div in there and it worked. Thanks to you both for the help! |
