Just slap it in P and hang on for dear life.

I typically use trees. But it's usually my foot is stuck on the gas pedal.

Iron Fist 02-03-2010 11:47 PM

Hold the power button for more than 3 seconds....

That is funny.

BluMedia 02-03-2010 11:53 PM

My gas pedal gets stuck all the time, I love it lol.

It's not called a stuck gas pedal, it's called cruise control

BFT3K 02-04-2010 12:06 AM

Another popular method...

Wouldn't it be better to leave the engine running so the brake booster continues to function? You pump that pedal a couple of times and it will go as hard as a rock...

Same with the power steering

Why would you need to switch off the ignition if it's in neutral?

Jon Oso 02-04-2010 01:35 AM

My gas pedal used to get stuck under the factory floormats in my SS. Getting the go-pedal stuck in a 130 horsepower econobox going down the freeway is one thing, having it stick in a 400 hp muscle car when you're trying to pull into your garage is another. That's yanking the e-brake and cutting the power to the motor time.

nico-t 02-04-2010 06:53 AM

thats what you get if a country is dumbed down by automatic transmission.. learn to use manual so you cant just step on the clutch!

Domain Broker 02-04-2010 07:11 AM

It's called neutral and brakes morons

marketsmart 02-04-2010 07:12 AM

put it in neutral and let the engine blow...

It won't happen; rev limiter will kick in.

slapass 02-04-2010 07:21 AM

I had the gas pedal get stuck before and I just pulled over using the brake. You can try it but most cars will stop using the brake if you have the gas all the way down.

sweetcuties 02-04-2010 07:22 AM

It's beyond fucked up what Toyota is going thru, they're gonna loose alot of biz. So far 19 deaths, more than that prob

i thought the rev limiter only forced switched gears on automatics...

TheDoc 02-04-2010 07:31 AM

You turn the key back one notch, motor is off, all the power is still on...

nico-t 02-04-2010 07:32 AM

if you die because you cant handle a stuck gas pedal you are fucking retarded.

hold a car at the rev limiter for an extended period of time and let me know what happens :) its only there as a precaution, it wont stop your engine from grenading itself

That's what I was thinking.

Usually if you turn it OFF, the steering wheel will lock, leaving you unable to turn the wheel to even pull over. :Oh crap

beemk 02-04-2010 11:09 AM

thats pretty crazy. i had a truck with a recalled secondary hood latch go bad and cause the hood to fly up and bend backwards through the windshield while i was doing 70-80 on the freeway.

ErectMedia 02-04-2010 11:12 AM

sad thing is people are on the road that need a video to explain what to do, if you can't figure it out on your own when shit happens hand the license over, game over :1orglaugh

MrMaxwell 02-04-2010 11:18 AM

Anyone who would just go to their death instead of dropping into neutral should never be behind the wheel of anything.. not even a go kart. It's not fair to the rest of us. If you shut car off, the wheel will lock, but you can turn the key off to kill it and turn it right back into position and the wheel will unlock. You won't have power steering but you will have control.

These cars with no key should have an emergency kill button. If they made a car with no keyed ignition and no red kill button, they should be sued.

These three people that died, it amazes me, two guys in the car.. pedal stuck down.. no one tried to at least pull the pedal back up with their hands? It just seems to me like they all panicked and died of panic.

I've had cars refuse to stop accelerating.
I'm not dead.
I've had to be coherent and have brain power to survive. If people can't make it through something that simple, half of the shit I've faced would have killed them ten times by now.

Ever look at someone in their 30s or over and wonder how they survived to the age they're currently at? It's a product of society being too EASY on everyone.
