If there is one place on this planet that you would like to go to for a serious BUSINESS conference, which place would that be?

Can you please explain me a little more, why you prefer London over let's say Paris, Ibiza, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Lisbon, etc.? Just want to get a better feel for what made you vote for London.

For me it looks trendy etc...and its totally english speaking although I know most of europe speaks english..it might just give it an edge ( in my view) ...plus I work for brits ( in canada) so they get to visit home as a bonus :winkwink:

For me its closer to get to and It will only take me an hour or so to drive to. But if you were to hold it in London I would try and get somewhere on the outskirst because of the traffic issues and for people who dont drive its fairly easy to use the trains to get to a venue in London

I would suggest Reykjavik, Iceland!!!

Yes, one of the advantages of London is definitely that it can be very easily reached from everywhere (from North America, from Europe, etc.). And all cheap airlines fly into London (Virgin, Ryanair, Easyjet, etc.) Also a very important point to keep costs low for everyone!

Yep I think the cost does put a lot of webmaster off from going to conventions

And how about doing it in Paris and have a sponsored shuttle bus running from London to Paris? Paris in the fall might be more attractive than London weather-wise, no? And it is only a 2 hour ride from London to Paris, no?

Cancun or the Riviera Maya

Nice idea. But I do not believe people would see a show hosted in Cancun or Riviera Maya as a serious business show. And get-aways we already got a lot (Panama, Costa Rica, Curacao, etc.)...

One show per year will definitely stay in Barcelona.

I just figured nobody wants to go to Barcelona two times per year. That is why I would like to do the bigger show in fall 2010 somewhere else, before returning to Barcelona for the June 2011 show.

Currently we are planning to do one show every 8 months. So that would be June 2009, February 2010, October 2010, June 2011, February 2012, etc. So a nice rythmn. Easy to remember.

Of course, as always, the final word on all of this our sponsors will have ;-)

Budapest is the second most beautiful city I know, and if you have been there once, you will agree with me, BUT I don't think the name really "sells"...

If in US would be cool to give Chicago a shot. Fun city, centrally located. NYC is cool but as mentioned it's expensive for many.

Europe: Paris sounds good. Maybe Rome?

Could be a good idea to keep Barcelona as a basis, and than rotate every second event through London-Paris-Rome. Just an idea...

Paris, London, hell, even Rome would be great, but what about the East coast. The east coast has always been neglected(with the exception of FL), New York maybe.

I know, shoot me now...lol

London is very convenient to fly to and if you really need to save on accommodations London has almost everything you need. Paris would be fun but might be a challenge for English only but I am just guessing.

I think that cities that are interesting "per se" disregarding if there's a summit or not and will call attention to more people are:

Rome
Paris
Prague
Berlin

in no particular order

however, I think Barcelona is and will always be the best place for this kind of events. Maybe Marseille if you want to change air

it might be cheap to get to London, but everything else is expensive as hell. therefore Prague would get my vote, also because of the "entertainment factor" :)

Prague is definitely a good location.

Also mentioned in this thread is Budapest, that would be my 2nd choice.

Been to both places multiple times and I think the best variety for the adult arena would be Prague, it would gather a lot of attendance also from eastern europe.

I do not like the idea of a show every 8 months, get it planned on fixed months every year to avoid conflicts with other shows, if you start conflicting shows you ruin the value of both :2 cents:

I'd be there if it was in Iceland or Tuscany, mainly because I've never been to either before and I hear that the women are stunning are in Iceland. But, I've been to 90% of the cities/countries listed in this thread. And, very few mentioned are as great as some make them out to be (re London and Paris). :upsidedow
