Super Bowl - Colts or Saints?

Not feeling the game this year since I am not a fan of either team, but I will root for the Saints since they never won a Super Bowl before.

I also have 2 boxes in a pool that I entered at my job. Since my wife is working I will most likely just stay home and watch the game and eat some honey BBQ wings.:)

Who do you like in the game and where are you watching it?

Dont see how the colts are the better team, saints have had the #1 offense 4 years straight and had the most takeaways on defense all year. The only reason they sucked at the end is because like 5 starters on defense got hurt..

Porn Grounds 02-06-2010 09:21 PM

Saints better win. Colts are lackluster at best...

I don't really follow either team but I would love to see the Saints win.

Going with the Saints. Definitely going to be shootout between quarterbacks that's for sure.

The Colts have had a better record, better defense, 20+ players hurt including 13 starters, and the best quarterback alive. Yea, they're the better team.

Have her check youtube for the commercials. Tell her to be a "good little woman" and serve you wings wearing only high heels.

Vjo 02-06-2010 10:26 PM

I talked to my friend who is a die hard Vikes fan (he was calling radio stations Monday after the loss all upset) and we both agree the Saints tho desrving, did get cut alot of breaks to beat the Vikes.

I hope the Saints win (my buddy says we must always root for the NFC :)
but I'm pretty sure the Colts will win.

But who knows. Always fun! Wish I had HD already. Sheeesh. Maybe hook it up this summer.

Where did you find that?

95% of the sports announcers, writers, analyst etc... are all calling for Indy to win. Payton Manning is the great QB ever, how could any one beat him. The Colts are the greatest team ever, blah blah... tired of hearing it. Dungy "I'd be shocked if the Colts don't win, they will win big".

Yes the colts played in a superbowl and won it, yes it was in Miami. Did you know that over the last 4 years Brees has played just as good if not better than Manning? The Saints have the #6 ranked Rushing offense vs Indy's (dead last) 32# ranked rushing offense (can you say 1 dementional, the saints will be able to put more defenders in coverage, or blitz not having to worry as much about the run.)

The best common opponent... New England. The Saints and Indy both played New England at home, with in 2 weeks of each other. Both teams had the full line up of main starters, and New England had the same players for both games. The outcome: Indy wins 35 - 34 because idiot Belichick goes for it on 4th from his own 28 yard line instead of punting. Indy wins one they should have lost. The Saints beat the shit out of New England, winning 38-17. It wasn't even as close as the score.

The Saints played at Miami stadium this year, the Saints have played on a big stage (NFC championship game) twice in the last 4 years, they can handle the big stage.

Just don't see how everyone is counting the saints out.

yeah since his dad was a QB for the saints for many years...

Also Reggie Wayne grew up in New Orleans and was a huge Saints fan.

Joseph Addai is from Houston and played at LSU, not sure if he was a Saints fan or not.

The Saint's defense has given up some yards in the post season, look which QB's and offenses they have played, two hall of fame Qb's Warner and Farve. Two high powered offenses and a top defense with Minnesota. Who has Indy played in the post season: Sanchez and Flacco :helpme two one domential teams, both running teams. So the colts cold stack the box. Can't do that against the saints who are great with running and passing the ball.

The Saints might have gotten the last couple calls in that game, but the Vikings got the first 10 calls. There was some really bad calls in that game on both sides. The officiating sucked.

I knew you were going to respond to that post. :) You can understand, were still a bit upset the Vikes failed to get there again.

Anyhow, everyone can agree the Vikes had a tough team this year. Favre
did throw cross grain to get picked off when the Vikes have one of the best kickers.

Kudos to your young kicker. He reminded me of Zester's avatar. :) Kidding Zester. Long blonde hair though parted in the middle.

Anyhow, and then the Saints won the toss.
(my buddy again, hehe, says always pick tails. tails never fails. A Vike picked heads, it was tails)

If my buddy was here he would say BS. The refs totally called a one sided game and (he cliams) one ref is being investigated.

But that's him. :) To me it was a close game all in all.

Ya can't blame the refs.

Go Saints :thumbsup

Manning shredded the Ravens' Defense, and then the #1 defense in the NFL. Brees and his bunch got massacred in virtually every category, and needed a typical Brett Favre play to escape with a victory. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out where this is going to end up.

This is retarded logic. The Saints also lost their last 3, including a game to the Bucs, while the Colts pretty much rested their starters. The Saints had the better numbers, the Colts had the better record.

Its really too hard to call if you ask me.. They are both great quarterbacks who can come from behind and do amazing things. Saints seem to win all the games Shockey is in.. He was hurt for the last 3 or so and so was Sharper. They are all healthy now. I'm hoping for a good game but the saints need to win because umm yeah i'm from there and the losing thing gets old after 43 years. ;)

Vjo 02-06-2010 11:51 PM

One other thing that has been true at least 4 out of 5 games: The favorite wins the Super Bowl. Might even be better than 80%.

Which makes rooting against Manning more fun. But the guy is good and seems to get it done.

Frankly it will be a miracle if the Saints win. But they are "Saints"

Ok forgive me. I been here a while. :)

comparing teams based off of like opponents, only 2 weeks apart, both home games, with all players healthy in those games is retarded logic? That is the best comparison of all except for playing each other.

What is retarded is to go on and on about how the colts rested their players but then say the saints lost their last 3 games. News flash, the saints rested most of their starters for the last game they lost, brees among other players didn't even take a snap. So thats 2 games they lost, but they pretty much had it all locked up towards the end and took their foot off the gas.

You got me there, the colts have the better record, they are 16-2, the Saints are 15-3. :upsidedow lol that proves everything. :warning

How about the games that Indy was trying to win:
Beat Jacksonville by 2 points
Beat Miami by 4 points
Beat 49ers by 4 points
Beat Houston by 3 points
Beat Patriots by 1 point
Beat Ravens by 2 points
Beat Jacksonville by 4 points

Thats 7 games they won by a total of 20 points.

The Saints had 2 games they won by 3 points, 1 game by 5 points, all other games they won by 8 points or more.

I also think Manning is going to throw a few picks... Would be nice if we can beat them 45 - 21 :)

Reality is the Saints have been dissed by the sports media since day one of the playoffs-
media says cardinals beat saints-
media says vikings beat saints- (btw, saints scored 31 points against the 6th ranked defense in the NFL)

reality- sports media does NOT like the saints

Manning MVP????

How is this possible?

STATS
Touchdowns
Brees 34 , Manning 33

Interceptions
Brees 11 , Manning 16

Passing Yards
Brees 4,388, Manning 4,500

Yards Per Pass
Brees 8.5 , Manning 7.9

Passer Rating
Brees 109.6 , Manning 99.9
(Brees' rating is the seventh best of all time.)

Completion Percentage
Brees 70.6, Manning 68.8

Final analysis - Manning a great quarterback this season, Brees BETTER

punkpred 02-07-2010 05:29 AM

Easy win for the colts but it would be cool to see the saints take home the win

cykoe6 02-07-2010 05:49 AM

I believe that Manning will will his team to a victory as right now he is the best QB on earth. Having said that, the Saints have a legitimate shot to win if they play well. If they play like they did against Minnesota they will lose badly.

Yes, it's retarded logic, because the Colts have been missing 20 players all season, and that sports are all about matchups. You're basically saying, "because the Bucs beat the Saints and the Saints beat the Patriots by more than the Colts did, the Bucs and Saints both can beat the Colts". And that is retarded logic.

Even in the playoffs this year Manning has 5 TDs and 1 INT to Brees' 6 TDs 0 INTs... but they all talk about how good Manning has been in the playoffs this year but don't mention Brees at all.

Since 2006 (the last 4 seasons) Brees is #1 in passing yards - more than Manning. They both are tied at #1 with 122 TDs. Manning has been playing a few more years and his life time stats are better, but I just don't understand how they can dis Brees so bad when he has done as good or better than Manning in the last 4 years since he has been with the Saints. If Brees would have had a better defense in years past he would have made the superbowl every year, can't knock him for not having superbowl wins because he has had bad defenses.

You are comical. I never said if one teams beats another, who beats another blah blah then that team would win.

I said the best way to compare which team is better (unless they actually played each other) is to see how they played against a common opponent. HOWEVER, if one played them at home, the other on the road, or it was at different times of the year, or if weather conditions were bad for 1 but not the other, of if one team had hurt players for one of the games, etc.. then it wouldn't be a fair comparison to use.

This isn't the end fucking all on who is going to win, but a good guage. If i am retarded for mentioning this then so are many sports writers who cited how the colts did real well against the rams but the saints didn't win by much. However those are not like games, the saints had a lot of players out for the rams game.

You can't get a better comparison than the Saints vs Patriots and Colts vs Patriots game.
- Both games were home games.
- Both were nationally telivised games.
- Both were indoors (weather conditions the same).
- Both had teams (including patriots) had all of their main starters healthy and playing
- Both games happened with in two weeks of each other.

You will never find a better comparison game then that where all things are equal.

BTW, I never said the Saints rested their starters against the bucs. I said they rested their starters in thier LAST game of the year, which was against the panthers. You said the Saints lost their last 3 games, but you FAILED to mention that one of them they rested their starters, it was the panthers game. :321GFY And the Saints lost againts the Bucs in OT, after missing a FG.

When I take a shit, my turd knows more about football then you do. Can't wait to see your Manning boy get flattened today.
