Blog Experts- Is Wordpress the best?
 
Do you use wordpress or is there something better out there to build a good solid SE friendly blog site?

WP is the best. I not only use it for one of my blogs, but also as a CMS for my VOD site, my business to business site in my sig and pretty much any other site out there. You wouldn't even know I was using WP as the CMS for most of those sites just by looking at them, but I have the benefit of all the backend plugins and functionality that they provide.

Wordpress is easy to use and has a lot of addons.

I found that it killed the shit out of my servers. Typical page loads are slower than shit. Just sayin'.

There is a lot of bloat to WP since it has been stretched to do things far beyond traditional blogging. Now people are using WP as if it's a webpage generator. It is to 2010 what Geocities or FrontPage were to 1998.

It's powerful, easy to use, has lots of plugins, lots of themes, but under the hood it's a total nightmare...

you have no idea on how to configure a server or database. Just saying :winkwink: (btw, last week I had 280,000+ visits in the same day to 2 different WP sites in the same server. Not a blink)

anyway, in general, if these fine gentlemen use WordPress, then I think it must be pretty cool, since those sites are getting a few million hits a day, pretty damn good for those newbies :winkwink:
