Yeah he's been a bit of a homeless celebrity around here. I'm glad you posted this last I heard he was on his way back up. Looks like it was a short run. I'm going to see if I can meet up with him in the near future and see what I can do to help him out.

I took a bit and read through some of his posts. He's certainly not a dumb guy. He's quite insightful on a multitude of levels. I bookmarked and tweeted him.

I hear you. The homeless come from all sorts of backgrounds. When I was in college, a well-known homeless man called HATEMAN turned out to be a former New York Times obit writer. A friend of mine sat down with him to discuss politics and metaphysics.

Do you know how hard it is to get a job today?? I haven't had a real job since 2002 but I know lots of friends and family that are out of work right now and can't find a job.

I've helped more people than I can count and solved problems all of my life and no one gives a god damned motherfucking FUCK when I'M down but all you have to do is be a whiny childish BUM and hippies will rush in to throw money at you .. and don't worry, the government will also throw some STOLEN working peoples money at you, too

this guy said he's been homeless half his life - most of his adult life. the recession hasn't been going on that long. he's just a fucking lazy bum.

America is all about finding a good rock and making money off it. if he doesn't like it, there's lots of good cheap countries to live in with better "homeless" accommodations than the US.

$5k a year is a nice living in many parts of Asia and probably more in line with his hippie mentality.

homeless people are typically either mentally ill or addicts or both. unfortunately. there are exceptions but that is typically the case. if many took their meds or took measures to get off drugs/alcohol they could significantly improve their lives but they choose not to. i always see a bunch of them using computers at the library to surf the net. i guess this is what one of them does with their time.

the worst one i ever saw was a bum watching a blowjob i hear these kids snickering like 9 year olds i knocked the bum on his ass :mad:

When I lived down in Palm Beach as a teen there was a millionaire who use to spend most of his time on the streets. He actually owned the building my dads bar was in. On the bad nights he would usually leave the bar and go next door to one of his other empty buildings to sleep rather than a buss stop bench or whatever. On the flip side there was also a couple who panhandled down the road and someone did an article on them and it turned out they were actually living a better than average lifestyle panhandling (condo, new cars, etc.) So yeah a wide range of people but as someone else said it's generally a mental issue, alcohol, drugs, etc combined with no family to keep an eye on them.

There is a Homeless guy that used to live on South Beach. every month he gets his check at his PO box, and cashes it.. 12k spends every dime of it on him and his homeless friends and then goes back to begging.

Says he wont stop being homeless as he has some of the most expensive realestate in the world to live on and no one can stop him.

Which is true, because a homeless man got tired of being thrown off the beach and sued.. He won because he was an attorney that lost it all.

I do feel sorry for homeless people who lost their jobs and can't afford a place and have tried to help themselves. However, a lot of them would rather live on the streets and not have any responsibilities. They would rather drink or do drugs or just be lazy...
