I'd know if spam bots can fuck Nats stats for affiliates, in Google Analytics i usually have the same traffic, but in some days in the Nats stats i have more clicks, for example 10 unique, 10 raw, when the day before i have only 1 unique, i have very few traffic so it's strange in a day i have a lot of this clicks....seems not made from a normal visitors, i think come from spam/spider bots.

Fuck yeah, spam bots killt he hell out of nats stats. Wanna know why? Explain to me how my brand new site, hasn't been crawled, indexed, or anything, gets 209 raw hits!?!?!? In one day!?!?? I havent even released the site for traffic or anythign yet!

Might affect RAW clicks.... but can't see how it would impact your unique hits.. unless you were getting join form page DDOSed from a botnet.

AVG & some of the other anti-virus stuff now prechecks all link on a page before you click them which can cause extra clicks. You can test user-agent to weed them out.

On a mainstream board I was reading about an ideal to use something like ClickHeat or mouse tracking to tell if the vistor was a person with a mouse or a bot that did nothing.

Last I dug into something like this, for a very normal reason of how to include stats for affiliates on an "offsite" project away from nats, unique was 100% cookie driven....

which would go well with unique == raw for bot traffic :2 cents:
