Tubes - Full DVD Content
 

Do tubes like RedTube and YouPorn:

a) Pay for DVD licences and use the DVD content (and if so, who provides these licences?)

b) Work with a DVD sponsor and use the DVD sponsor content in exchange for cross sells or some other payment?

c) Steal the content and use it (if so, where are they stealing the content from?)

d) Something else (if so please elaborate).

redtube and youporn are probably the two that have a lot of user uploaded content.

so random users simply grab a dvd rip off a torrent site (for example) and then post it to redtube?

what's to stop redtube from doing that? they just take it and wait for DMCA notices to come in and then remove the videos.

Yeah, that makes sense.

I'm still surprised that DVD licencors licence their videos to the tubes.

I just go to the adult dvd rental place to rent DVDs for ripping. Then I just rip, encode and upload to all the tubes.

That's the cheapest way to do it and how lots of the big tubes got started too.

the best place to get content is videobox.com full dvd rips for 17.95 a month.

you can also just rip by scene which is nice too...
