You are trying to appeal to americans with a reasonable argument.

Such an effort is doomed.

Americans are pretty much all hysterical little girls.

just a thought.

GrouchyAdmin 02-11-2010 06:25 PM

I am all for socialized health care so long as someone follows some simple rules:

You live healthy, or you pay for it yourself.

It's not my fucking problem you had a heart attack at 32 because you've done nothing but eat McDonalds your entire life. Fuck you, I already have to pay for your kids.

In a way this is true. They could announce tomorrow that we are going to spend 400 billion on new military stuff and very few people would complain. If they announce they are going to spend 400 billion on health care for people, half the country would be in an uproar.

Does it piss you off that you pay to defend these people?

WAIT A MIN...

Lack of Health Care.. That does not mean Lack of Healt Care Coverage or insurance.. A DAMN good number of people die because they were scared to go did not have the time to go etc and that ALL falls under Lack of Health CARE!

It's called an appeal to emotion and it's not a logical argument. Thanks for playing.

Huge difference. Your biggest mistake is comparing the threat of terrorism to lack of great healthcare.

fatfoo 02-11-2010 07:32 PM

The ad says, "Invade a hospital."

If terrorists invade the hospital and kill terminally ill patients this would reduce a lot of costs. But, of course that would be inhumane.

_Richard_ 02-11-2010 07:54 PM

holy shit.. those are some crazy numbers:

"The Harvard study found that people without health insurance had a 40 percent higher risk of death than those with private health insurance — as a result of being unable to obtain necessary medical care. The risk appears to have increased since 1993, when a similar study found the risk of death was 25 percent greater for the uninsured"

moeloubani 02-11-2010 07:56 PM

lol americans you guys get fucked harder than anyone else in the world by your government its pretty sad to see

bronco67 02-11-2010 07:58 PM

I have great healthcare, but I never go to the doctor.

So your claim is that it's not true that people have a very very very low chance of being killed by terrorists, however, despite this, americans behave as if hysterically afraid of terrorism?

And that americans are able to parse statistical likelihoods, and usually make decisions based on likely outcomes?

Thanks for playing.

Wait, that's my claim? Holy shit, you're either an idiot, or a psychic, because you totally can tell me what my claim is. Game over, tool.

The side that fears terrorism will tell you that we are at risk of being nuked and having 100,000 wiped out in one shot.

Oh please... blah blah blah!

How about we outlaw cigarettes too? How do they help lower anyone's insurance costs?

Maybe use a couple of Pentagon cookies to cover the cost, or is it more important that we build bombs?...

I guess I would disagree. I think if tomorrow Obama went on TV and said he was spending 400 billion to develop a bunch of new military technologies that would help us better fight terrorism many people would not complain and many conservatives would feel this is a good step forward in helping to protect them and their neighbors. But if he said he was going to spend that 400 billion on making sure everyone who has no health insurance or is under-insured got health insurance those same people would be up in arms. Then numbers seems to show that their under-insured neighbors are 58 times more likely to die from having a lack of health insurance than they are from a terrorist attack. We will spend infinitely to protect from the terrorist, but not to help them get health insurance even though the lack of insurance is much more a risk to people.

Or even better - how about spending over one TRILLION dollars giving a tax cut to the rich! That's what Bush did, and nobody said shit. Obama proposes a healthcare bill that will cost that much over the next 10 years and he's fucking Hitler!

That's the beauty of stupid human beings. They don't have the ability to be objective, or even live in reality. Thanks for the laughs BFT3K.

Yeah, damn terrorists!

and insurance companies too... Damn Insurance Companies!

KILL_FRENZY 02-12-2010 01:13 PM

Touchy subject. That's because most Americans are typically scared shitless of any insecurity and a bit paranoid. So having a powerful defense is better than having something to actually defend...

Yeah that is pretty scary. It clearly states that those who have government health care get fucked pretty hard. Most people who can not afford "private health insurance" can get help by the government.

Fact: Percent wise, the government turns down more needed medical procedures than any private insurance company.

What has changed since 1993? A lot more people are on medicare/aid

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...medicaid_x.htm

But this propaganda piece doesn't want critical thinking. I wonder if this was part of the government funded propaganda the Obama admin bought?
