Yeah. I heard that some time back.
Back when I was leaving telco and a lot of the dot.com's were going bust. I had heard Google, among other companies, were buying up the black fiber for cheap. A lot of the dot coms or telcos start ups of the 90's had laid so much fiber that it would have never been used at that time. It was insane over capacity.
Glad to hear it is being put to use by some company with a forward vision. The Bells and other telcoms are not moving fast enough to keep pace with the rest of the world.
