Looking at the following.

Mercedes
GLK Class
M Class
GL Class

VW
Touareg

Mazda
CX9

Mitsubishi
Endeavor
Montero

Toyota
4runner
Highlander

Who has what and how good has it been.

Any other ideas.

Land Rover

punkpred 02-12-2010 03:21 PM

Add Jeep to that list

EdgeXXX 02-12-2010 03:23 PM

Are you looking to stay in a certain price range? Personally, I like the Porsche Cayenne GTS (basically a sportier version of the Touareg) and especially the Turbo and Turbo S although they are quite a bit pricier.

Land Rover was a good one..

POrsche is not what I want.. Nice but a bit tight in some aspects.

Price range is value for size etc.

Range Rover - By far..

pornguy 02-12-2010 03:31 PM

Did not like the Jeep and was just looking at RangRover. Like that one

Would this be a daily driver? Only reason I ask is that the last/only Range Rover I owned was constantly in the shop.

Yeah to and from school for my son and then into the hotel zone or downtown and then trips.

But basically every day.

cherokee

Have never heard good things about the Jeeps and the last Jeep Wrangler Limited I had it was shit.

xenigo 02-12-2010 04:08 PM

We have a Highlander and I like it... I just wish it had more power. I think now I'd choose the 2011 X5 with the TT V8.

pornguy 02-12-2010 04:15 PM

X5 is the BMW right?? Wayyyy the hell over priced.

Land Rover/Range Rover is probably the most likely to break down often. The GL Mercedes is nice but it does not have the best customer satisfaction record. In fact for 2009 i think it came in worst.

Go with the Audi. Solid, reliable and the best all wheel drive system. If the Q7 is too big check out the Q5.

It's $59. I think you'd change your mind if you ever drove one.

FjCruiser from Toyota. I've had mine for over 3 years now and no problems.
It's reliable like hell and will get you over any obstacle in your way. :pimp

The only problem I've encountered is indoor parking lots. The thing is high and with the rack you just can't squeeze into underground parking lots.

Loch 02-12-2010 05:16 PM

Jeep 4 door wrangler Rubicon , never loved a car as much as that one

TidalWave 02-12-2010 05:22 PM

I had an ML350 for a few years and traded it on a Porsche CayenneS which is a much better winter vehicle on every level.

Wont buy an American car again unless its a ford. They have a nice one here called the Edge but dont really like it that much.

GTS Mark 02-13-2010 01:13 PM

I had an Escalade for about 3 years (lease is just about to expire). I really enjoyed the truck and it was perfect for my family, however alot of little technology problems are happening (rear camera works sporadically, tire sensors are forever fucking up etc...)

I am thinking of getting one of these next (hopefully they will fix the pedal problems by then hahah!)

pornguy 02-13-2010 05:31 PM

Nice.. we like the yotas as well but I think we are leaning towards the Mercedes, the BMW or the Audi

livegirlsonbed 02-13-2010 06:38 PM

Audi Q7 is a nice car

JP513 02-15-2010 11:02 AM

Nothing says elegance like and Audi says elegance.

But if top-level mechanical reliability were a huge issue, I'd be looking at a Japanese vehicle. If you're considering Audi & MB, that means the Acura MDX should enter the mix of models you're considering.
