Adding subdomain and SEO

Hey guys just a quick question.

I know google takes a little time for your site to be up before it trusts you and puts you higher in the rankings(thats what i've heard anyways). When I add a subdomain, does google do the same thing (waiting period) even if my original domain is a trusted one?

Thanks
Mike

if u want good listing in google i will not advise to use sub domain. Nobody wants links on subdomain and google not lists subdomains quickly.

It seems like Matt Cutts and a couple of the other big SEO guys had covered this in detail a year or so back. In Google, subdomains are actually treated as separate domains in SERPS.

I do not follow the SEO 'gurus' all that closely since their advice varies. But I want to say that this was covered in 2009, and they were treated as separate sites by the search engine.

However, I would hit some of the SEO forums and ask around there. They would be better equipped with those who try it. You could also hit the webmasterradio.fm chat room. Then you do not have to base it on only the recommendation, but find some who are doing it with success. Or hands on knowledge.

Good luck!
