Experimenting with drugs while working on a business, serious question.
Is it bad to start experimenting with drugs casually, lets say every weekend or two while your trying to get a business up and running? I always figured make money first then do the experimentation.
|
uh......... theres not even an answer to that, its just a stupid question.
|
Get the hell off the adult form and get back to your high school studies, before I call your mom and tell her what you're doing! OK?
|
'experiment" I prefer to abuse my drugs.
. |
maybe someone knows someone who started using drugs and their business just went downhill.
|
i eat grass
|
aren't the drugs in the equation for every successful business?
it's really sad that you are planning out when you are going to use drugs in your life. experimenting does not equal casual drug use. experimenting is also not every weekend. my guess is you're already addicted. |

you don't need meth and you don't need speed, because everything is better with a bag of weed!
|
Lots of successful people are completely straight edge and don't so much as drink beer. Why would anyone think a clouded mind would work better than a clean, clear mind?
|
Well drugs make you see things you've never seen before, like if your an artist or inventor it can give you visions and ideas, I guess that can apply to business people as well. Plus I figure the body repairs itself so if your not doing it that often it won't cause any long term damage.

how old are you by the way?

why even bother 'experimenting'...it will never turn out well anyhow. besides weed maybe...
|
Ecstasy, MDMA, is not a drug you should ever do every weekend, whether or not you are starting a business. And the fact that a lot of "ecstasy" is really methamphetamine just makes it worse.
|
weed makes you stupid and slow, I don't do weed and the people i know who do it every day are airheads.
|
If you think weed can mess someone up, you really need to stay away from anything being sold as ecstasy. Both MDMA and meth have way more potent side effects and negative health effects on the body.
You could smoke week every day for months and it wouldn't mess you up as bad as going on a meth bender or doing MDMA a few too many times in a row and screwing up your serotonin levels so much that you feel fucked up for the next several months. I'm telling you this not so that you'll smoke weed but so that you will realize that MDMA and and meth are NOT on the same "casual use" level as weed. |
I use psychedelics because I'm a designer, and I have that mentality, and I honestly belive it's expanded my vision of things over the last 30 years of use.
I stopped using weed when I was 18, (waaaaaaay back in the early 80s) because it just makes you stupid. Coke was great, but expensive (for the real stuff) and not compatible with my personality. Speed / meth also not compatible with my personality. E.... never done it. I like my brain and have no desire to melt it. I use alcohol to chill and relax. Tried lots of other stuff, including lots of exotic stuff not many have even heard of.... but NEVER when business is on the line. Don't be a fucking idiot. Don't confuse fantasy with reality. Business is business and requires a clear head. Drugs are recreation. Period. :2 cents: |
I am thinking once a month or two. If I ever notice a long term side effect from a drug I would stop immediately
|
i've done my fair share of e when i was younger... and i never had a brainstorming session while doing it.
you won't notice long term side effects when you are using drugs.... i really hate to say it but you are no where near mature enough to experiment with drugs, if there was even a maturity level that needs to be reached. |
Ask Steve Jobs, I hear he was an acid freak and thats how he got all these cosmic ideas.

I don't see why getting high on the weekend is a big deal. No different than getting drunk. People need to blow off steam at the end of the week.
As far as doing drugs while working...I guess it's dependent upon what you do. If your specialty is creative type work, then it might be good for your work. Some of the greatest music, art, and literature were created by artists who were high as kites. Drugs can be mind expanding. Of course when it comes time to do "grunt" work like building web pages or updating a site or any of those monkey tasks...then you need your head clear. If for nothing else to keep from passing out from boredom at the repetitiveness of it all. Probably the best bet is to do what people have done since the beginning of time. Work your ass off and stay away from alcohol and drugs during the week. Continue that same thing on the weekend, but stop working around 7 p.m., go take a shower, get dressed, hit some clubs and get fucking fried. That way your mental battery is recharged the next Monday and you'll be ready to settle back in for another week of hard work. |
I used to pop pills a lot at work, but then again I was talking shit over a microphone or pouring drinks. Never drank, never smoked weed... coke a couple times "on shift."
Now that I have a mainstream job, no more of that. If you have to ask though - you're probably not ready or you have a super addictive personality and you'll fuck yourself - or you're just looking for attention. |

It makes me feel for those poor 3rd world outsource laborers doing this shit for pennies. Just for a moment or so. I dunno on what, but I imagine half those guys are bombed all day too. :1orglaugh Coding, now that takes a clear head. I can't write shit when I'm baked. Not that I can when I've got a straight mind all that well, but it's just a bad idea. Like doing your taxes high as fuck. I think if you know what you're doing and keep control of whatever it is you're doing, go for it. If it's limiting your productivity, stop. If it is expanding your ideas, helping your come up with new concepts, and keeping you in a groove improving your productivity, then keep on tokin'. Maybe designate periods for burning one up and having a brainstorm session. Just have the power to know how it is affecting you and react to it for the situation. |
I started off every few months.
That turned into every few weeks. That turned into weekends only. That turned into Friday - Sunday. That turned into Thursday - Sunday. That turned into Wednesday - Sunday. That turned into Tuesday - Sunday. That turned into Monday - Sunday. Just don't do it. You're really not missing anything. The fun is fun but after you've been through rehab, you'll realize that the lost years were not worth it. BTW, ecstasy was my gateway drug. The ride ended with a crystal meth addiction and I lost everything. So not worth it. |
