Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned the United States and other nations Tuesday not to impose tougher sanctions in reaction to the Islamic country's nuclear ambitions.

Iran already faces U.N. sanctions and the five permanent Security Council members -- the United States, Britain, Russia, China and France, all of which have veto power -- have been engaged along with Germany in discussions about possible further measures.

"It's high time for some people to open their eyes and adapt themselves to real changes that are under way," Ahmadinejad said at a news conference in Tehran.

Asked specifically about the threat of tougher sanctions, the Iranian president said, "We prefer that they move in the spirit of cooperation. It won't put us in trouble. They themselves will get into trouble."

Ahmadinejad also seemed to threaten unspecified retaliation, saying Iran won't act like it has in the past.

"Definitely, we will show a reaction that will put them to shame, like always," he said.

Dont forget that we overthrew their government and installed a dictator not too long ago. Don't fall for all this propaganda.

The nukes have nothing to do with anything, although that will be the pretext to whatever happens.. round and round we go again... people will fall for the same crap once again.

I think it's the Neocons and the Zionist that can't wait to torch the planet. They're the one pushing for this strike on Iran.

There is only one country with proven track record of WMD abuse and it ain't Iran.

dyna mo 02-16-2010 08:40 PM

The most widely used definition of "weapons of mass destruction" is that of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons.

going with the accepted definition, several countries have a proven track record of WMD abuse.

Fat Panda 02-16-2010 08:44 PM

fuck ya, jack bauer is on it!

moeloubani 02-16-2010 08:51 PM

lol 'bad track record' go let the news feed you some more lines to say

we have allies which we send aid to that arent even part of the nuclear non proliferation treaty, places where UN weapons inspectors have never been and aren't ever allowed to go - Iran opens itself up to UN inspectors and still people cry about Iran for some reason

learn to think

sortie 02-16-2010 09:26 PM

Weapons of Mass Destruction.....

We can't find them in Iraq so "Hey!! Look here!".

:1orglaugh

There is no end to the line of fools who believe every hype shit on the news.

MetaMan 02-16-2010 09:36 PM

I actually heard his speech and it was not bad. Western media just picks and chooses parts. for some reason i cant find his speech ANYWHERE! i think they censored it.

also take a look at a map of Afghanistan and Iraq and look where Iran is. then maybe you will understand things more.

stop listening to propaganda from both sides and do REASEARCH.

i watched a doc on Iran and it evenly played both sides. and i forget which deal it was but Iran negotiated the release of American hostages in return for i think it was $7B in frozen Iranian assets. they turned over the hostages and the americans did not realease the money. how can they expect Iran to cooperate when they get screw over?

also Iran is not a deadzone like Iraq and Afghanistan. with all these sanctions how are they supposed to get energy for their population? are they supposed to suffer and go broke because the USA says so?

of course they want nuclear energy. they are doing it for their people.

when does the excuse that everyone who doesnt agree with your policies is a terrorist wear thin?

there is 2 sides to every coin and both of these sides flipping it.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/article...e-East-map.gif

can anyone locate his speech for me? i literally CANNOT i saw it on al jazeera. is the west censoring the full speech? i find it fucked up a huge speech like that and you cannot find it.

Elli 02-16-2010 09:46 PM

Meta, I was just about to recommend that show. I believe you're referring to the BBC special "Iran and the West." It's a three parter and I highly recommend it.

yeppa 99% sure that is it. i watched it a week ago. it gives you a full perspective and is unbiased from both sides. infact i think the americans came out looking bad.

did you like it? i found it profoundly interesting. it was very well done.

i dated an Iranian chick (and she hated Iran) but it gave me a second hand experience what it is like there. and it is nothing like the western news portrays.

people need to wake up and stop listening to filtered news ie WESTERN NEWS.

dav3 02-16-2010 09:52 PM

Hmm... What makes that 3 country stretch of land so interesting?

mayabong 02-16-2010 09:55 PM

wow lots of awake people on this board.. i'd like to hear the speech too

AAB 02-16-2010 09:56 PM

There is a good documentary called Iran is NOT the Problem. It's not what you are looking for, but it does offer nice insight into Iran and why western world media brainwash people into believing that they are the bad guys.

i cannot find it ANYWHERE!

i read transcripts i forget where but there was broken in comments like "terrorist making threats" and basically spoon feeding the people who read it.

you can tell it was translated in a way to totally go off from the point in what he was saying.

where is the speech? WE ARE CENSORED FROM IT. it is fucked up!

how can a major political speech not be seen? im in the USA right now.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=qfcDuntgKpA

it is no where on the western net!

MetaMan 02-16-2010 10:10 PM

Now people lets go a little further. lets think outside the box for a second.

who runs western media? lets be honest the jews do.
who does the jews hate the most? the middle east.
who is the super power in the middle east other then israel? iran.

now break it down and think about it. replay that over and over in your head and understand how most of the stuff you have ever learned can be considered to be complete bullshit. everything you read or are told comes down to helping pad someone elses pockets with someone elses polices.

now who controls the minds of the youth in the west? is it the govt? i think not. it is the media. now replay in your head who controls this media and realize why this media will never teach you anything real about the world.

do your own research if you want to seek real understanding.

america is a proxy of israel think about it.

this is no longer the days of stand up for democracy. every policy is infected with what israel wants because they have complete control of the minds of the nation through media. how many people read this article without doing research? 99% i would guess. then how many people go and tell their friends about big bad Iran and then think how many of those friends do 0 research. again i guess 99%. see how fast minds can be infected with false information these days?

then no one even thinks of doing research, then it becomes POLICY easily because the majority of minds did not for a second question what they are reading and already believe what they are told because they have heard it before.

even think of north korea, the USA does not like them because they buy Iran oil, and Israel does not like Iran.

the nation is slaves to the media. you cannot become with president without them.

conspiracy? i think not. it is quite simple if you look at it. just humans naturally wanting "their people" looked after. this is not rocket science. welcome to the matrix... enjoy your ride.

CNN vs Fox News.... if I could watch both at the same time, i'd be fully covered.

Fires can be stopped by water from the Persian Gulf.

Anyway, United States has like 100 times more nuclear weapons than Iran or North Korea. But, United States doesn't want any other country to have nuclear weapons.

I found it fascinating. I've always wondered what the big deal about Iran was, and it felt wrong how the press always held Iran up to be this Super Evil Power, like North Korea. So that documentary really helped fill a lot of gaps.

Is this the speech we're talking about?

http://english.aljazeera.net/news/mi...747576364.html

"

Iran's president has said that a UN-drafted uranium exchange deal remains a possibility with talks on the proposal "not yet closed".

Speaking in Tehran on Tuesday, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed the assertions of the United States and its allies that the plan was effectively dead after Iran had begun the process of further enriching uranium to 20 per cent.

"We have already announced that we are ready for a fuel exchange within a fair framework," Ahmadinejad said during the televised news conference.

"We are still ready for an exchange, even with America," he said."

(the article is quite a long one and has some very interesting points re: Hilary Clinton and Israel's nuclear program)

mikesinner 02-17-2010 12:59 AM

Please stop listening to Fox news and CNN, they are just mouthpieces for the right.

Anybody with any intelligence that has really done their homework knows that Iran is at least 10-15 years away from getting enough material to make a nuke and even then I doubt their rocket technology will be any threat to the U.S
