I tend to not mind sifting through his posts every now and then. Cut/paste or otherwise they are still more valid to biz then 90% of the rest o the posts on the forum.

About time someone said this. $5 and Fris are a couple of the biggest content regurgitators I have ever seen. If you idiots want articles like this, join stumbleupon, enter in web development type interests and you will get all the articles like this every fucking time you press the stumble button.

Tell us how you really feel. Once more with emotion. Is it really such a no good thing to do? Contributing worthwhile links is still a contribution. The pair of them offer a lot for the users of the forum.

Fris runs up some good posts, puts the light on a lot of good free themes and plugins, and always has helpful advice to anyone with a wp related question. Did he create the themes? No. Does he take credit for them? No. He puts up the links, to the sites of the people who made them, credit is in line, the post gives everyone here something useful to use. How is that a negative thing?

$5 Submissions puts some light on a lot of good internet related articles, many marketing and seo related. Good on topic reads. I probably read a post or two of his a day, whichever headlines catch my eye. Did he write the articles? No. Does he take credit for them? No. Again where is the issue?

Neither of these guys are doing anything that there aren't hundreds of other bloggers and webmasters are doing, they just happen to be doing it on a public forum that I already am on making it convenient to me. If they get some sig views, good for them, they are doing more than most are to contribute here. Certainly more than I am, lol.

It makes me laugh that out of the massive heap of useless cunts this forum hosts, people are whining about two guys, neither of whom seem to stir the shit (ok i may have seen fris do a little bit of shit stirring), and usually post something that is at least semi ontopic. :1orglaugh

How could this possibly be any worse than the dozens and dozens of posts to today news articles that are up everyday? You could get all that shit on CNN. Did people write those articles? Well fuck them too, lol. Or the youtube videos that are posted constantly. You do know you could find that shit on Youtube right?

Actually his threads are usually some of the best stuff I read on here.

I like reading the stuff he posts. I do both mainstream and adult, and find the posts to be topical. While your point about finding the material elsewhere is valid, it makes my life simpler to find them here, on a board that I read daily.

My opinion is that if he gets a sig view in return for tracking all that info down, then big deal. People post far less relevant stuff with the same results.

I always consult him about social trends and porn and his opinions and recommendations have made me to correct some stuff and innovate in other, when most of us are just going in one direction Gene has already been there
and about the OP, forwarding, retwitting and linking is a good practice to share what others know or recommend. And as Baddog says he takes the time to find out what one doesnt have time for

Just to make things clear: I don't strip the article and post it as my own. I don't claim ownership of the work of others. I post the link and usually an excerpt (via indentation). The source site gets targeted traffic (because the title I choose normally filters based on interest/relevance to the reader) and the community here gets news, trends, ideas, discussions, etc. Win/Win situation.

Regardless, I do accept your critique re increasing the level of commentary instead of just posting a link and I've incorporated that critique in my two latest threads here--more commentary and using quote box more instead of indentation. Still evolving to a final stable form but I do appreciate the feedback, everyone.
