If you have AT&T unlimited you should check your bill
On Jan 16th, I call AT&T after they released they will be offering unlimited talk for $69.99 a month, down from $99.99/mo. I was told going forward my rate plan would be lowered to that amount.
I get my bill in the mail and what do you know... it was never changed! Why? Well I got three excuses: 1) I have to go into an AT&T store and sign a new contract 2) My contract will extend for another 2 years and I have to give verbal agreement 3) That rate is only for limited phones and NOT the iPhone All of these are 100% bullshit. You can change your rate plan at any time. They have my record of when I called so after speaking with a hand full of people, one nice lady gave me the difference off my bill plus $100 credit because of the mistake. If you have not switched or just recently have, call them and demand they PRORATE your account back to Jan 15th as the $99.99/mo plan was no longer active as of Jan 15th, 2010. And yes, they have to honor it since the plan's rate was changed. If your looking to get out of your contract and have the unlimited plan, you can too without paying a penalty. Anytime prices or terms change, you can break the contract or agree to the new ones and the contract continues. Just some helpful advice to fellow iPhone and AT&T shit network users :winkwink: |
I called the other day to have it changed to the cheaper plan. They told me it would go into effect at the end of the month, and that there was no way to make it go into effect immediately.

my guess is hundreds of thousands of people will assume the price will drop and not want to wait on hold for 30 minutes to get it fixed. just 10,000 people is an extra $300k in revenue to AT&T... they're not stupid |
wait... so it DOESN'T apply to the iPhone? I'd love to knock that 30 bucks off the bill if it does apply
