is it risky to socialize a lot with the boss?
got a buddy that does that. his boss is a top guy at their biz, family man, so he taps my buddy to go get loaded and hit the massage parlor for a tug. they do it pretty frequently.
i tend to think when shit ever hits the fan, my buddy is gone. thoughts? |

More often times then not it will come back to bite you. :2 cents: |
My not be gone but the boss sure will cover his own ass as much as he can. So make the boss buy when they are out.

Shit sounds like the boss is probably doing more than just that with your buddy. Shit will hit the fan but he'll have a fun ride on the way down :winkwink:
|
i am not sure of the repercussions of the boss's wife finding out her husband's going and getting rub and tugs with a low-level employee.
? |
It's more of a risk on the boss' part, actually. It's good to hang with the crew and to let them know you appreciate their work - but you should never take someone who works for you to an R&T or see you completely shitfaced.
However, as the employee.. |
I think your buddy has blackmail material LOL.
|
depends on the boss and the respect say the employee has for the job, boss & the company...i for one have been great friends with my bosses for almost 15 yrs...at work, im the employee, off the clock we are just guys that like to hang out and party....if you can keep work & personal separate then no biggy

Look at it this way, he knows about the Tug jobs.....would his boss really have the balls to fire him? :)
|
get pictures or blackmail is useless.

Your friend has an advantage that every other employee only wish they could have.
The worst that could happen is he alienates other employees if they get jealous of his relationship with the big cheese. |
The other employees will look at him as a brown noser and be jealous
|
Totally depends on the boss and the relationship you build with him/her. A good one takes time. I'd avoid it if you didn't know your boss prior to working for him/her.
|
sounds gay.

its not a bad thing to be friends with your boss, or at least make him pretend :1orglaugh
only problem is if your buddy decides he doesnt want to hang with him anymore, could put him in a bad spot at work. however, could go either way if he had to axe someone at the company. since he is a friend, he might approach him first and help him find another job; likewise, might can someone else cause they are buds. |
