take a helicopter grand canyone tour - land in the canyon for lunch - AWESOME experience.

Book some shows - blue man group is great, as well as "o" and cirque du solis - but book them NOW cause unless you got over $200K to gamble with they will be sold out if not already.

goto the lobster place that has 20lb lobsters for dinner.

ride on the stratsophere amusement rides 101 storied up in the air.

visit the chicken ranch

goto every party you can

walk the conventio foor

make SURE you poke your nose in at the players ball

and try and make arrangement to meet up with as many people as possible BEFORE you go as the convention is HUGE and very hard to find people at unless they are sitting at a booth.

good luck and have fun

The Grand Canyon in Vegas or the Grand Canyon in Arizona?

http://www.nps.gov/grca/

:winkwink:

I think I deserve a nice hard earned vacation away from the hustle and bustle of work. Might as well enjoy ringin in 2k3 with some cool porn slingin mofos.

There's always 12-20 computers setup to surf the net at the show. Reload from there, I always do. Hehe...

If this is your first time and given I've seen a few people here who seem to want to kill you, I would stick to some of your trusted friends to show you the ropes. You'll have a great time there and its a great place to pickup affiliates. If you want to meet in Vegas, hit me on ICQ. I'm sure I'll run into you at the show either way if you'll be around Roger and company.

in AZ - they fly you there from vegas - little over an hour in the helicopter each way. usually they go by hover dam and you get to see vegas by night as you come back. really really cool - about $200-$300 for 3-4 hours total including lunch in the canyon.

I know man, I was just giving you shit about geography.

We've thought of chartering a plane from, here to vegas, be there in like 45 mins, cheap as hell too.

Then fly over to the canyon, but I prefer to drive to Arizona and do it the right way.

Ive been to vegas so many times its quite boring.

I dont gamble.

:winkwink:

Fletch XXX 12-22-2002 11:17 PM

Sleazy this is what I want to do.

http://www.nps.gov/grca/river/

I'm more hands on, I want to hike down the Canyon. Climb all the way down and look up.

Then ride the fucking rapids!

we were actually planning on doing that for the TGP VIP party but decided against it as not everyone is into that stuff so we tamed it down to just optional helicopter rides.

Hehe, who here DOES like lucloney. I was hoping to do the same at Roger's booth. Then my heart was broken when I found out Jen was married. But I still try... hehe... If your around his booth I'm sure I'll run into you. If not, I'll probably be around the TCG booth. Hope to see you there.

I can't remember the name - they have signs all over vegas though. some guy holding up a HUGE lobster in a tux. the lobsters are HUGE - you get to have a pic with them too. it's looks like a fake but it's actually REAL.

the REALLY big lobsters arn't as good as the smaller ones though, they get tough and chewy. very cool though to eat one that big with a few people.

Meloman 12-23-2002 12:11 AM

The shows are awesome. I don't know how people don't like going to them.

I went to my first show like 3 years ago and my entire business strategy deveolped from the experience. Basically I like to network and meet people. If people are cool and I trust them, then they get my traffic. If they are cocky and snobby they don't.

Not to mention that it's great meeting your sponsors. Hell when someone is paying me a ton a year in commission I want to know who they are face to face :-)

Hey Pimpdog. Since you run a proggie I just recommend bringing a ton of biz cards with you and just be yourself. If you're cool and people like you then you're gonna have affiliates signup when they get home :-) It's not hard to network and make friends there at all. EVERYONE is there to have fun and meet people and since you're an actual program owner you'll have tons of people trying to strike deals with you :thumbsup

I love Vegas and can't wait for the show :)

Just my :2 cents:

p1mpdogg 12-23-2002 12:18 AM

you bring up a very great point..

I fucking HATE car salesmen!! and I dont want to come off as one.. So i refuse to hand out flyers and cards etc.. I wont have a booth either...I want to conduct business aswell.. so that puts me in a tight spot.. I want to make deals.. but I dont want to be pushy, or come off as a 'car salesman'. I have a good product and I have a solid business plan/model and it has proven to be profitiable.

I guess what I am trying to say is.. I need to be myself like you say.. and if it happens it happens.. I just might meet the right ppl, and make the right deals.

quiet 12-23-2002 12:19 AM

i've been to a couple. the last one was summer of 2001.

basically one large party. parties every day and every night. lots of fun, and an easy write off. not much business being done from my experience though. then again, i'm not much for 'networking' 24/7.

snoop was cool at the players ball...

Be yourself then, don't be in someone's face. Just chit chat with them and if that person likes you, they'll ask you for a bizcard. Someone who tries to force their pitch on me will never work unless they have something i absolutely need. The best approach that works on me is to simply be outgoing and be interested in talking, not specifically about figuring out what traffic i can bring to them...

I don't try and sell anyone ANYTHING at vegas - business does come up naturally but i usually tell people to contact me about it AFTER the convention. it relaxes EVERYTHING. people will remember you and think of you in a MUCH better light later if they want to do any business with you. Only fools try and force cards and flyers and advertising material into EVERYONE's hands.

i say that reluctantly cause I admit i do love getting the t-shirts.

Yup, just be yourself and it'll all come together. The cool thing about these shows is that the more you go the more friends you make. So even if this show doesn't get you a ton of deals you're at least going to walk away a bit wiser since at the very least you met a ton of people.

I'll be hanging out at the FlyntDigital/Cashquest booth a lot (I manage there consoles) so make sure to stop by and say waazup :thumbsup
