What is "fake"? What is "real"? Do you think GFY is "real"? GFY is merely a computer program designed to resemble real communication. Remember, just because you can't see and feel something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The unseen creatures exist. They cannot be seen. You have to sense them... with your mind. |
I became non-religious after 12 years of catholic school... that usually does the trick
|
i became non-religious when i didn't want to start hating people for who they were
|
I don't believe in a god or any kind of "holy magic", but I don't know if that makes me a non religious person....
I don't subscribe to any one religion but I do try to live my life by a set of standards and feel that there is some sort of karmic ballance that should be minded. |
ShellyCrash couldnt say it any better.
i kind of find it funny that people pick and choose what they want from a specific religion. why? because they in fact realize how crazy some of those religious checklists are. religion is for those without a conscience of their own. |

I'm neither, but I am spiritual and I do believe in a higher power or a universal energy, whatever you want to call it.
To my way of thinking, God is within each of us. Not the Biblical God, but it's a God of being in line with who you are supposed to be. You know how you get that good feeling when you've done the right/moral thing, even if it wasn't what you wanted to do? That's what I mean. |
What other things can people/technology not see, hear, feel, touch, or taste (to a point of having proof) that people believe to be true?
Someone said santa and the tooth fairy, also the easter bunny and we can include vampires, angels, and ghosts... ..any others? |

1. I had grown up and realized there is no such thing as ghosts, Santa, the boogie man, tooth fairy... 2. If there was this ultimate ghost riding around in his cloud car 2000 years ago parting seas, talking to people via burning bushes, among other supernatural things. Why hasn't he been talking to anyone (other than supposed priests and shit) for thousands of years? 3. I opened a history book and read how the Bible came to be. Including the manipulations of the church, and how things were written back then. As well as the church controlling literacy among other things. This further reinforced religion is a man made convention for control. Since coming to these realizations years ago. It has endlessly been reinforced time and again by church scandals, shit people think and believe. As well as the remarks made by clergy and religious folk. Anything that requires blind faith, and the absence of logic, is a scary thing. Especially when so many buy into these fairy tales. This does not even get into the power mongering, greed, and corruption with evil's of mankind. Not just in the past, but the present. But I digress.... :2 cents: |
absence of proof isn't necessarily proof of absence.
Then again I think religion is terrible and 'faith' is funny. |

Just stopped buying it when I was 10 years old or so. Mom never made me go back to church after.
There are some interesting things about religion. For instance, society doesn't start to organize and flourish until the introduction of organized monotheistic religion appears. Many African nations which are to this day tribal are still not civilized societies. Realistically the best chance for these African countries is for Islam to spread. We're seeing that happen now. Many people are starting to believe religion is actually hardwired in to us as an evolutionary device. It seems to me that while critical for the beginings of society, after a certain point it begins to hinder advancements. I think we're at that point now. |
SATAN made me do it..... Rock nīRoll is my religion since Iīm concious!

"Religion" is often confused with Spirituality. The two are often very different- especially when one is used for non-spiritual, controlling, and evil purposes. |
Religious people how to answer this.
If you were brought up in the middle east, you would be Muslim. If you were brought up in Asia, you might be Buddist or Hindu, if you are brought up in USA, you might be Christian. So your religion is determined by where you are born / brought up? They can't all be right. |
I was pretty jaded after growing up with two extremely hypocritical "religious" parents.
