Want to take down an illegial tube? idea

So the law says they can post user uploaded content so long as they respect taking it down in a reasonable time. Illegal tubes post their own stolen content and say it's user uploaded to skirt this law...

so here's how to push them back into compliance.

Send emails or letters- all slightly different - all bullshit - demanding they take down a particular movie. Lie about owning the rights to it with a fake name that looks kinda legit. Do it on every piece of content on the site - archive and all.

They won't be able to deal with them all - and then you slip in some real ones into all the fake ones so they won't be able to tell the difference.

WHY?

Cause then you have an individually sent email asking to have content removed and since they are swamped they won't remove it as they obviously arn't going to remove all their content.

SLAM DUNK case for failing to remove illegal user submitted content.

fake dmca's are illegal.

sandman! 02-26-2010 02:05 AM

good way to get yourself into some trouble if you get caught.

Jack Sparrow 02-26-2010 02:07 AM

You are losing it sleazy.

Doing that is reason enough for a tubesite owner to sue your ass for sending false dmca's.

Btw. http://www.iblametubes.com (see sig)

;)

You have been thinking about this idea for about a 1 year now.. haven't you.

papill0n 02-26-2010 02:18 AM

There are also ways to not having to take dmca's like that seriously.
You can send whatever bot, but its fairly easy to check.

I dont think any private person would wanna risk his ass being sued for faking dmca's.

Btw i think we are missing the point really. Why would you want to send fake dmca's again?
If its an illegal video, the right owner should take care of it, or the one that is ordered to take it down and has the legal rights to do this should.

Raf1 02-26-2010 03:29 AM

try it and tell us all how it turned out for you ;)

Blingbaby 02-26-2010 04:11 AM

you are even more of an idiot than you were yesterday.. nice job!

geirlur 02-26-2010 04:13 AM

You could gather a large group of people that actually own the videos, and then send in the DMCA's at once, and watch what happens. Probably hard to do but just an idea ;)

I predict it'll have wonderful results..
especially after just telling probably every tube site owner on the net about it.. :)

Love me some sneaky ideas.. :)

Va2k 02-26-2010 05:46 AM

All you idiots ragging on him is just stupid, at least he is trying to think of ways right or wrong to stop them. What the fuck have you all tried??

CaptainHowdy 02-26-2010 06:08 AM

Fight tubes from within!

MrMaxwell 02-26-2010 06:55 AM

Right off of the top of my mind I can think of a much dirtier tactic that would have a tube site taken down in a heartbeat.. But sleezy, this is just amazing, you have belched a coherent idea out of your mind. Keep up the good work there slappy!!

Longboat full of Vikings 02-26-2010 07:21 AM

1. Send DMCA notification to google
2. Have google remove their website from SERPS
3. ????
4. Profit.

ottopottomouse 02-26-2010 07:29 AM

With taking content down in a reasonable time what counts as a reasonable time - 24h, 48h, 72h, a week, a month?

The guy's an idiot and he's not coming up with anything people didn't mention when the tubes took off almost 2 years ago now.

Anyone with a brain knows that what he suggest is illegal and will hurt more than help.

tranza 02-26-2010 10:08 AM

yeah... yeah... yeah......
