Inglorius Basterds really was an awesome movie. I don't think you will be dissapointed.


I've had the Hurt Locker on my list for a while now, just haven't been in the right mood to watch it yet.

I tried watching it on a plane - it was like 90% in German with no subtitles...

just saw he had alot of other awards, some for the same movie: IMDB

yeah, I knew he was going to win that award as soon as I saw the movie.

They had odds in Vegas for the Oscars, and Chrisoph Waltz had the best odds in any category to win.

He DID make the movie. If it were not for him, the entire rest of the film would have been unwatchable. I love Tarantino movies, but this one was just garbage outside Waltz' s performance. it had so much potential and it was just pure trash, a lot of which I believe can be blamed on poor casting. Hey, at least they got this guy in a stellar roll. Again, only thing that saved this movie was his happy smile as he rambled on about killing.

Well deserved but who would have thought a bunch of Jews would have awarded a guy playing a Nazi? Oh the irony.

Acting is about skill. It's not about race/religion/heritage/political , is it?

I mean any actor can play any role. It about the skill with which the acting is done.

Best Actor wins.

Seriously? The Oscars has ALWAYS been about politics and a popularity contest. Very rarely has it ever awarded anyone based on best performance. This is the first year its all changed though. Not only Waltz winning but Monique as well as the first woman director as well.

He was the absolute best part of that movie, i was totally hoping he would win as well :)
