Key development in Mobile marketing: Global Translations

Google Translate allows Android smart phone users to translate speech into many languages. Voice recognition meets smart translation. Of course, it isn't perfect yet but works well enough for any traveler. What I dig about is it is a TWO WAY translation system. Many of the translation systems used by the military currently involves ONE WAY translation.

Would this be the app that sets the Android apart from the iPhone? I doubt it, but it definitely is a step in the right direction.

If you're traveling in Beijing and find yourself hungry for some American cuisine, you can activate the translator on your Google-powered phone, and say, "Where can I find a hamburger?" Moments later, the phone will spit out the phrase in Chinese -- both as a string of text and, if you prefer, in a computerized voice.

Conversely, should you happen to be stopped on Sunset Boulevard by a visiting Japanese businesswoman with a question in her native language, simply ask her to speak it into the phone. Wait a beat, then press the play button to hear the translation: "Is it going to rain today?"

They are getting closer with the new technology that's coming out, but I repeat "A machine will never take a humans place when it come to translating" Not in the near future anyways.

Msn I believe just released a new phone that allows you to talk in your language, and it translates for you, and delivers it in the translated language. This is Super cool but again not perfect. Granted they are taking steps to make it so, but nothing conveys a "sales pitch" of a product better than a human targeting the language they speak.

Of course, but the two translation is a step in the right direction. Next step: realtime two way?
