the fellas who setup a joint venture type of deal to acquire sex.com tried lots of stuff on SEX.COM since 2006 --- tgp, parking, clean portal for the mainstream, etc... nothing worked obviously :(

i always say, the domain doesnt make or break your biz.... but it does help a bit if its a targeted keyword domain

domain could have and still could be great...I used to buy traffic from Grant that rich bastard....he did alright with it

I remember when It was a SE that sold PPC traffic, actually did pretty good with those bought spots.

I think it's time for whoever will own sex.com to go a different route then porn.. maybe a place that could be educational in terms of sex along with selling sex related products - books, toys and other stuff like that. The porn thing has been done over and over on that domain and obviously it never works out, well, it worked many, many years ago but not anymore.. Time to make it an educational place where people young and old can learn about sex in a more realistic way. Actual helpful info, articles etc.. etc.. Then again, I could be wrong and this may not work at all, but some sort of change is needed for whoever the new owner will be.

the .xxx can be used for porn and the .com for educational stuff. The .com wouldn't lose its value in that case. Of course, $14 000 000 is a little much in my opinion.
