What's The Worst Cell Phone Bill You Ever Had?

I was watching a show the other day where some guy got nailed with a $6,000 bill for data roaming and crazy data transfer charges.

My worst was probably in the fall when I came back from Amsterdam and Munich. Ended up being handed a $1400 bill, which most was for data transfer (damn Facebook!).

Rogers ended up crediting me $900 as I told them I had never been to Europe before (total boldface lie lol!) and had no idea what the word "data" even meant lmfao! ;-)

my usual bill is around $200 all in and for the amount of calls, texts and data I use I think that's about right... How about u guys? Got any crazy cell phone horror stories with your bill?

sandman! 03-10-2010 06:25 PM

i get hit with like $300-$400 every time i go to jamecia those damm 35c text messages kill me :(

Sly 03-10-2010 06:31 PM

I used to have some friends that could never afford to buy food yet they wouldn't bat an eye at $200 phone bills. I always thought that was funny.

dyna mo 03-10-2010 06:34 PM

i think i had one for around $1400 too, back in 1998 or 99.

CunningStunt 03-10-2010 06:41 PM

My first cell phone was built into a brief case and had a mini fold out satellite dish, had to direct to different positions of the sky until it connected to the orbit one lol. the bills were typically 2k UK pounds for a few hours talk time.

I needed that phone at the time, which was the early 90's, as I traveled a lot on biz to India, it was really high tech at the time lol.

Haha that's awesome! My dad had an old bag cell phone when it first came out. I used to think it was the most amazing thing ever when it was first released. Man we have come a long way :)

If you used the phone / data access - why would you lie about it and try to lower your bill??

I always belive in paying what I use / what's owed????

I didn't realize i would have been charged anywhere near that amount of money for data transfer. Really 90% of that bill consisted of the international data transfer. I don't believe in lying either but come on $1200 for 1 week or data international data transfer? I wasn't even doing much on my phone, maybe a few megs worth of transfer MAX. I tried to use the wifi whenever it was available too...

Sextoyking, watch this video and you let me know if you think.

BestXXXPorn 03-11-2010 10:51 AM

I hit $1,000 years ago just while in California. I was on a business trip and the CEO had agreed to pay my phone charges (they were almost all business calls)... that was, until he saw the bill. I had to pay for the entire thing out of pocket. Awesome...

DamnGoodRatio 03-11-2010 10:52 AM

Had one of those old brick phones when they first came out, bill was more than my rent on the beach front apt at the time, stopped answering the thing for a while after that...

Tom_PM 03-11-2010 10:58 AM

Worst cell phone bill I ever had was not even one I knew someone claimed I owed, and I never had a cell phone plan with the company or any other!

Discovered a collection agency on a credit report, called them up asking WTF is this about, they said Sprint. Called them up and asked WTF, and they claimed I owed $9 from like 10 years prior. I told them I never owned one of their damn phones. They said the bill was to radio shack, care of my name. I said then ask radio shack to pay their fucking bill and get this off my personal credit report. I was only store manager and every store had an activated phone to demonstrate to customers. This was the old original Qualcomm phone with the slide up earpiece.

Already long story shorter, the bottom line was nobody would do jack SHIT about it without lawyers, so I told them to give me their address and I mailed them 9 one dollar bills. Pigfuckers.

Thats the worst cell bill I ever had. Wasn't even mine, ruined my credit score, but I paid the goddamn thing anyway.

jgabra62 03-11-2010 11:00 AM

I had a $3500 cellphone bill because my I didnt have a clue that I was getting charged for the data transfers while I was stayin in London for 3 weeks!!

pornguy 03-11-2010 11:00 AM

350$ in 1999.

CaptainWolfy 03-11-2010 02:02 PM

last year something about 420euros .... :S

MaDalton 03-11-2010 02:20 PM

i think about $600 for being on Mallorca for one week and using my phone as modem

96ukssob 03-11-2010 02:26 PM

before AT&T had their unlimited plan, i would get billed about $300+ a month and actually had a second phone that I would use because i would go over so much.

about 7 years ago i used to have a plan with Nextel and canceled it. three months later i got a call from a collection agency trying to collect over $2500 for a past due bill. somehow someone got my info and purchased a bunch of phones on the plan before it was officially canceled and I had no clue.

never ended up paying it and took years to fight with them about

smutnut 03-12-2010 05:34 AM

40eur but not too much :)

Roald 03-12-2010 05:43 AM

over here they were talking about it that when you hit x ammount of euros for data use you get a message so people won't end up with huge bills.

I always turn roaming and shit off when I am out of the country, cause it ads up quite fast lol
