A stupid question for Canadians

Do you need visa to visit the USA? Or you can cross the border freely?

Si 03-11-2010 07:55 AM

I'm not Canadian, but a permanent resident and I can cross the border with my card.

interesting question , common Canadians :)

I am a permanent resident of Canada now and a US citizen.

DRIVING

To cross the border as a canadian into the USA you need a passport, nexus card, or the new high tech drivers license to get across.

As an American coming up to Canada usually you can tell them where your from and where your going and they waive you through. Its a 50/50 chance that they ask for identification.

I cross the border multiple times each month and this is my experience crossing in the buffalo area

FLYING

You need a passport either way

No physical visa...its automatic under nafta..6 months less a day a year your allowed to spend. You also do need to prove your citizenship now though to cross the border.
