I can't believe so many people use GoDaddy... such a horrible over upselling, junked up UI, PoS...

Sometimes price weigh heavier then a user friendly CMS?

Dunno, but $5.99 for a .net and $7.49 for a .com are the lowest prices around AFAIK

Pretty standard really, $7.40 or less at Joker.com ...

Cyber Fucker 03-17-2010 07:36 AM

Great pool, lets see who is the most popular one.

Hmm, do you use a special discount package then? Cuz their price list tells me

.com .net .org .info .biz .us .name
Registration/Renewal [1 year] 12.00

first year 9.00

That's odd I wonder if I have some sort of code attached to my account, I've been with them for years since they were charging $6.50 / year (which is why I switched originally)...

How many names do you have? Sometimes it's worth it just to setup a reseller account and pipe all of your domains through there, you can save almost 50% that way... I know a few of my friends have thousands of domains so it's a worthwhile time investment for them :P

CYF 03-17-2010 10:20 AM

I wonder which registrars the "Other" votes are for.

st0ned 03-17-2010 10:26 AM

+1 for Moniker. :thumbsup

TeenCat 03-17-2010 10:28 AM

gofuck ... errr mean godaddy! :thumbsup no problems here so far

livecarlo 03-17-2010 10:29 AM

I use namecheap, free whois privacy service when you register a name and they let you have sub-accounts so your admins can change host records but not let them change ownership info or transfer registars.

You could also get an e-mail summary whenever a change is made.

Support accounts for a ton when it comes to your registrar. :2 cents:

Godaddy are absolute assholes! They have so many bullshit charges it's ridiculous! I sent out an email blast to my customer list and they suspended my domain. When I called to explain to them that it was my actual subscriber list (I had to provide logs to prove they signed up), they still hit me with $300 in "administrative fees" to get my domain out of suspension. They're fucking crooks.

there's a lot of stories out there like that unfortunately.

Very interesting to see who uses which registrar and why.

camfrog 03-17-2010 11:33 AM

I like 123-reg when they have specials offers like $2 .info domains

Godaddy because of thier 24-7 support.....I would switch some over to Moniker if they ever decide to offer customers the same support.

gonzojoh 03-17-2010 01:49 PM

Name.com
I rest my case now.

CarlosTheGaucho 03-17-2010 02:25 PM

I'm happy with Moniker.

closer 03-17-2010 02:37 PM

This news about Godaddy suspending accounts is disturbing me alot, launching a store soon and will be sending regular newsletters to subscribers, won't risk my domain getting suspended though ...

Are these just rumours or real facts (besides TripleX)

Tam 03-17-2010 02:54 PM

I have been using Domain Name Systems since 1999, never had any issues with them. I bought a couple of domains once from godaddy and they were clearly mine, sent in the faxes to move them and everything they asked. They still wouldn't let me move them to Domain Name Systems, I contacted Domain Name Systems and within 3 hours, they had it moved to them for me. Godaddy had refused for 2 weeks.

Godaddy has suspended domains before, that's a fact. You can google it for more details. Personally, I don't like to use them.

what's pricing like over there? Couldn't find anything on their website.

chupachups 03-17-2010 05:38 PM

Cant believe all the idiots voting for godaddy. Also, I would like to recommend "resellerclub.com" = great prices, offers and good API.

xmas13 03-17-2010 05:50 PM

+1 Namecheap

They're doing a 4.99 sale on new .com domains this month, right? Haven't heard much about them though, thanks.

Yes they do, and they regularly have promotions on other extensions.

chupachups 03-17-2010 06:27 PM

Oh, and a warning for 1and1 aswell - they are total fucktards. Another good one is tierra.net

Si 03-17-2010 06:29 PM

Dynadot is my favourite.

Namecheap second

GoDaddy for certain things.......

:2 cents:

I just threw them in to see if anyone used them, I agree that they suck.

DaddyHalbucks 03-17-2010 06:48 PM

Moniker is the only registrar I use.

wild johnny 03-17-2010 06:51 PM

I use G daddy.

Only reason I use them is because my first domain was regged there with them and it is easier to have all domains at same registrar.

Hmm, Does that still make me an idiot??

HandballJim 03-17-2010 07:24 PM

I prefer godaddy and moniker but have accounts with about 10 registers.

blonda80 03-17-2010 09:58 PM

i use Namecheap and i like it
