Domino's you better not disappoint!

Was never a fan, but now hear they are "better" than Papa John's.

Here's hoping people aren't lying to me!

In other news, I've always been addicted to their online pizza tracker. Order just went into prep. How am I supposed to get anything done when I can watch my pizza being made in a web 2.0 way?

Rhonda started my order at 6:07 PM. Thanks, Rhonda! I'm hungry...

In other news, sales are good today. I'm happy.

epitome 03-17-2010 03:13 PM

It's baking! Rhonda rocks!

J. Falcon 03-17-2010 03:17 PM

bon appetite

trevesty 03-17-2010 03:19 PM

I love their new crust

And I'm a now rehabilitated former Papa John's fan boy

epitome 03-17-2010 03:21 PM

Don't get me started on crust.

They gave me too many options! I finally chose deep dish because you usually can't go wrong. Was also tempted by the Brooklyn style crust.

I hate making decisions when I'm hungry.

epitome 03-17-2010 03:21 PM

YAY! Steven is out with my order.

I hope he doesn't stop anywhere to buy crack...

Sly 03-17-2010 03:22 PM

I have had it a couple times now and I think it's real good. I'm going with them now instead of Pizza Hut.

Oracle Porn 03-17-2010 03:22 PM

did you see Rhonda spitting on your pizza or that service isn't included in your order?

My boyfriend beat you to the punch.

He asked if it told me that Rhonda had to stop cooking to take a shit.

J. Falcon 03-17-2010 03:24 PM

Damn this thread just made me want to order some pizza tonight.

What happened to Pizza Hut. Growing up it was my favorite. I was a proud Book-It kid.

Now it tastes like a big glob of grease to me.

Or maybe my taste buds have changed.

Abbie 03-17-2010 03:27 PM

I've been hearing a lot about the "new" dominos but have yet to try it. I'm still partial to Pizza Hut.

Go for it!

For us tonight it was pizza or subs and pizza won out. It's usually subs.

burntfilm 03-17-2010 03:27 PM

Around here Elios is better than Papa Johns, so, er, nice victory there Dominos.

epitome 03-17-2010 03:28 PM

Does anyone have Ledo's around them or are they are regional thing?

I used to hate their pizza but fell in love with it within the last year. They're greasy, too, but I can tolerate it.

Tonight is the "big test" for us.

As I understand it, last year or something they changed their original recipe. Customers revolted and started fleeing. They had to right to ship and started buying more expensive ingredients and spent time getting the perfect taste.

I'm really anxious but I'm afraid that I'm too psyched up.

REAL-TIME PIZZA UPDATE: Steven is at the door with our pizza ... bf getting it now. He doesn't sound like a crack head. That's good. My time here is done.

ShellyCrash 03-17-2010 03:38 PM

Let me know what you think. We ordered it a few months ago when they first started the new pizza campaign and I was pretty disapointed.

I never been a huge dominos fan but I liked their original better. Haven't ordered since, but I agree the pizza tracker is the shit.

epitome 03-17-2010 03:54 PM

Holy shit, my mouth is on fire! It's supposed to be a hint of red pepper in their new sauce but I think the entire red pepper factory fell into my pizza.

I'm not a fan of spicy, so I was not happy. Had two slices, threw the rest in the fridge where it will probably sit until trash day.

Papa Johns, I'm sorry for cheating on you. This is my public apology.

EdgeXXX 03-17-2010 03:56 PM

I was never a big fan of Domino's, but I like their new recipe quite a bit.

:eek7

Seriously? Granted, I like really fiery foods but damn, I didn't feel the slightest hint of spice (and I actually ordered mine with hot sauce added).

comeplay 03-17-2010 04:06 PM

I'm kinda hungry now after reading this. Left over pizza from the fridge sounds even better. I'm stopping by, I'll bring green beer.

Rhonda doesn't sound like a mexican name, but maybe she took a nice big spicy shit on your pizza.

I tried out the new Dominos last week and have to say it has jumped to #2 on my list after a local joint we have up just outside the Toronto area called Toppers. And even then, it is barely in 2nd place.

Normally I don't eat pizza crust. I have always referred to them as the pizza bones and tossed them to the dogs. I ate every single piece of crust, including the ones from the leftover slices I nuked the next day. :thumbsup

What WERE you thinking? It's Domino's man!

Viewfinder 03-17-2010 04:17 PM

I had a thin crust from them a couple weeks ago and didn't notice any difference whatsoever. Liked it before, like it now.

I got hooked into ordering it because of the ads on TV when they first started running.

Quite frankly, the pizza still sucks.

Round Table or Papa Johns are both better IMHO.

Si 03-17-2010 06:15 PM

Dominos used to kick papa johns ass in the UK when I lived there. Tried a Papa Johns over here the other week and it was sweet and shitty! Got to try the Dominos again next, hope it's as good as it was in the UK.

Boston Pizza is pretty good.

None of the above can beat a proper one from Italy though them things are beautiful!

TidalWave 03-17-2010 06:19 PM

i tried the new Dominos like 3 days ago... nothing special or new at all...

The only good pizza i know of is from a place called "Z Pizza" which is like a local chain or something (or maybe not so local, shrug)

BlackCrayon 03-17-2010 06:20 PM

i actually prefer places like dominos or pizza pizza. i find the more traditional places put so much cheese on i feel like i ate a whole brick of it afterwards.

traditional? there ain't nothing traditional about papa johns........

La_Sexorcist 03-17-2010 07:00 PM

I dig the tracker, but was not impressed with the pizza. It tastes like papa johns now, except the crust is salty as hell. :(

bDok 03-17-2010 07:06 PM

i love dominos thin crust pizza. Saved me the other night. Was coming back drunk from being out downtown and ordered it on my iphone from the web in the cab on the way home. Got home and 5 or so minutes later the dude was at my door with it.

Blingbaby 03-17-2010 07:31 PM

Last time I gave them ANOTHER shot a few years ago, it tasted like shoe soles..

Wow, I'll have to give it a try again because when I had it I actually thought it was blander than the original. Everything was worse except for the crust, which I didn't really care for because we also order bread. The change to the crust is that they are just hitting it with the stuff they put on the breadsticks.

Never had Papa Johns. They don't have it around here but you go to pretty much any place that isn't a chain and the pizza is a slab with tons of cheese on it.

SomeCreep 03-17-2010 08:08 PM

Both Domino's and Pizza Hut are gross. They are both greasy, use salty cheese, and mushy pizza dough.

BIGTYMER 03-18-2010 01:36 AM

I like the old recipe better..

I tried domino's for the first time in about 15 years at 3am about two weeks ago when there was literally no other food options available. I will never, EVER make that mistake again. I honestly have trouble concieving of a situation where their product can honesetly be sold as pizza. I would rather have a melted cheese slice and ketchup on toast. At least then I could be assured that the ingredients were quality and actually had some amount of taste. I don't understand how anyone could go to a large chain pizza store for anything.
I have 3 decent to good pizza stores within a 3-5 minute drive of me and I live in backwards ass-fuck.

epitome 03-18-2010 01:39 AM

I had a cold slice a few hours ago. It was better cold, but I'm always partial to cold pizza.

JD 03-18-2010 02:00 AM

the new dominos is 10000% better than the old crap they use to put out. My pizza rating card goes like this:

1. Costco
2. Farrelli's
3. Godfathers
4. Dominos
5. Papa Johns
6. Papa Murphys
7. Pizza hut
