Smoothie makers - Any of them actually work?

I've been on a smoothie making spree and I'm getting pissed off with this one I've got. I've started to call it a lumpy maker. Always chunks of fruit left behind and barely smoothed down at all.

Any of these things actually work?

This one used to be pretty good, but it seems to have gone to shit.

First thing that came to mind was ASS SMOOTHIE :1orglaugh

Good luck in your search :thumbsup

I have this one:

http://www.google.com/products/catal...wBA#ps-sellers

works pretty nice, don't get a lot of chunks from fruit or ice. Had it for a couple years now, use it pretty frequently for malts/shakes in the summer.

I just use a regular blender. It's nothing special at all but does the job perfectly.

I make them with the blender. Works great!

Just make sure you get a good one.

This blender kicks ass. I've had it for years... blends up everything!

I got a juicer, one of those Jack Lemonde ones you see on late night. After I juice everything I put it in my blender with ice cubes and it comes out better than any smoothie. I put the pitcher in my fridge and do a 15 second blend every time I want a drink. Best beverage in the world, ingredient depending and if I wasn't so lazy Id be making them daily still.

One thing with juicers is all the pulp after. No matter how efficient your juicer you got a tonne of it left over and feel guilty tossing it out. You can use some of that pulp on top of a salad and depending on what you juiced it can be real tasty and good for you too.

It's a lot of prep work and cleanup but I highly recommend this to any smoothie lover, health nut and anyone willing to put in the time. That said, Im gonna go grab a burger and a coke.

I make smoothies quite a bit I use a KitchenAid blender. The cheaper one I had before couldn't get the ice perfectly smooth so the $100 for a good blender was worth it for me.

There's a real expensive blender, I forget what its called they blend golf balls and stuff in videos.

That looks pretty fucking good!

Yeah I would probably sit there and eat the pulp lol. Waste of good fruit otherwise.

That $20 blender looks pretty good aswell. I'll have to go shopping for one at the weekend I think :)

I agree w/ what others have said, you just need a good blender.

Someone got us some smoothie / margarita maker for xmas a few years back. It didn't blend as well as our blender, but it looked kinda cool and had larger capacity w/ a tap on the bottom so for parties we would just set it up on the counter, make a big batch and people could despense at will. It was cool for a while but it broke pretty quick, I'm thinking maybe around 10 parties or less.

Yep! blender it is!

lol that don't sound very good. Saying about having to pour it out the top instead of having a tap, I can't use the tap on mine because it leaves big chunks that get stuck in it so I have to pour it out the top anyway :disgust

Vitamix blenders are great. You can get a decent one for like $300-400. I doubt you need a $900 blender just to make some smoothies at home.

Blendtec blenders are the ones with the crazy YouTube commercials where they blend all kinds of weird shit. Those have good reviews as well and they cost about the same as a basic Vitamix.

I'm really surprised nobody has mentioned The Magic Bullet ...

I would be lost without mine! You can make smoothies, shakes, Margaritas, Daquiries, or whatever, right in the cup you drink them from too!

I saw it on late night infomercials and thought "sure sure ..." , but then a friend invited us over for a summer adult drink party on the patio, and she had one ....

It was so much fun, and worked so good, I went to Canadian Tire the next day and bought one!

I recommend the magic bullet to anybody who likes smoothies, shakes, or crushed ice drinks!
